They say dogs dont have owners they have staff! How true, my angel got away with just about anything. I miss KJ the funny little beagle who shared my life for 14 years 2 mts.

molly the lurcher lover -
Hello there. We’re back from the wilds of Donegal, we had a good Christmas - a good part of it running after various dogs.......what’s new?
I hope your dogs are well and human families too; here’s to a brilliant 2009.
The Jackies are having brown lab. Pups in three weeks, a new camera has been purchased!
The latest acquisition is a beautiful bitch, I named her Jess. She is a rough coated Lurcher, a gingery colour with a black mask and ears.
She was found in the cold weather before Christmas huddled under a hedge, I think she had given up.
The lady who found her is phoning me daily to know how she is getting on and visited to inspect her progress. She has gained 5 pounds! [ The dog, not Sheila !!]
The dog warden took her for the statutory 5 days, then she went to a dog sanctuary. I heard about her on the Jungle Telephone and went to see her.
I just could not leave her there; she had to be dragged out, the only time she left her bed was to eat. The owners had flu and were hardly coping. I have never seen a dog so depressed -
I risked another divorce when she arrived home.
A friend lent me her Whippet x's old jumper, it was too short but better than nothing. She had a week of peace and quiet bedded up next to the boiler in our basement. I made her an outside coat [ curtain lining, duvet filling and cotton drill and quilted it like a Husky jacket, fastened with a clip off an old summer sheet and elastic and fittings from an old surcingle] but it is not great to lie about in.
She went to be beautified and had two shampoos to get rid of the flea eggs left after the ‘Frontline’ treatment She was very brave with the hairdrier!
I borrowed a crate and brought her into the kitchen/dining room after a week : the other dogs are interested but very good so far.
I have 10 dogs now........ + one more that was found wandering on the main road on Christmas Day [ a stunning silver brindle Lurcher] since returned to her owner after a week or so.
We have: ....... 1 elderly Whippet [off the street] 2 Whippets from the same litter [bred over the road,,Whippet yearlings], 4 Whippet x Greyhound X terrier somethings ! [our own pups- couldn't let any of them go in case they went to a bad home ! ] Whippet x rough coat small Lurcher [Rescue, from foster care] and the best of the lot Molly, either Wolfhound or Deerhound x Greyhound who is another rescue who refused to die: the vet. injected her 3 times and she would not die. The owner of the kennel heard the screams and ordered him off the premises [dog warden vet]. She phoned me....... the rest is history.
This new bitch will never go any further, I expect she will sleep at the side of our bed in time with Molly. The chilly Whips stay by the Aga.
P.S. January 8th Jessie spent a very comfortable night in a big fur-lined basket at the side of our bed and continues to do so
Wishing you all a wonderful, happy and healthy 2009,
Lynda

Hi! Thanks for your lovely comments about Daisy. I am pleased to say that her book, ‘For the Love of Daisy’, has now been published and is available from Amazon. I would love you to read about her, she really was a very special dog.
Much love,

Thank you for your message, all the support really helps. I know Tayah will be waiting and we can't wait to see her again. Suzie is slowly adjusting but still looks around for her and has tried to climb on the shelf where Tay's casket is to say hello. It was very sudden and unexpected so there was no time to prepare but I do take comfort in the fact that she didn't suffer. xxxxxxx
