Hi from down under! thanks for the email Yes I originally come from the UK (Kent) was born there I came out to Australia 3 years ago and had Pippa and Benson flown out here as well they seem to cope very well with the heat but prehaps it helps that I keep their coats short. I have been to Egypt 4 times and I still want to go back again one day. I thoroughly recomend a cruise down the Nile from Luxor to Aswan, it was great. I was doing a correspondence course before I came out here but cannot find any courses or classes on Egyptian history. Sorry I haven't answered before now but have had the flu. left Taz some treats from Pippa and Benson xx

Hi Julia, Thanks for the message. The dissertation hasn't happened yet. There's been a few changes at Manchester, and nothing has been agreed yet about the dissertation subjects. Its frustrating because I want to get started. I've decided what I want to do, but can't really do much as I haven't had my proposal confirmed. As the academic year starts next month, I'm getting a bit worried! Are you going to the Tutankhamun exhibition? I'm going in February - taking my niece along!

hi , the Pets as Therapy have a web site its www.petsastherapy.org and all the info about getting registered is there for when you have time after your degree! I visit a home for the elderly once a fortnight, it only takes about an hour a cheers up the residents who seem to spend most of their time feeding Oliver biscuits!! Oscar isnt registered as he would absolutely hate it and wouldnt be suitable at all as he is far to "private" and only like fuss and cuddles from a chosen few!

Hello, Julia. You're right, we Egyptophiles should stick together! Later this year, I'll be starting the final year of my Certificate of Continuing Education in Egyptology. Its an online course run by Manchester University under the 'ownership' of Professor Rosalie David. Its been hard work - but fun too! The fourth year involves us producing a dissertation on an ancient Egyptian subject of our choice. None of us on the course have quite decided what we want to do yet. There are a couple of others with our interest - GitSol is an Egyptology student, and Seti is a Rottweiler (I think) who is named after Seti the First. Are you going to the Tutankhamun exhibition later in the year. I have a priority reservation ticket - I'm taking my niece along. Nice to hear from you.
