Hi Ruth Thanks for the message - much appreciated. Wow, 40 miles, you must be very fit, I am very envious, the longest walk I ever did was the Lyke Wake Walk at 44 miles, but that was a long time ago. Can I sponsor you? - it's a charity very close to my heart - if so, put me down for 50p a mile. I hope to visit the Lakes in the next couple of months, halfway between Keswick and Cockermouth; do you know the area? I don't, but it looks nice; I hope to do a bit of walking but Penny is getting on a bit now (13yrs) and cannot manage very far, so I'll have to see how she is. My three dogs are ok - Charlie (a bitch) has been on a course of antibiotics for a rather delicate problem that I won't go in to. But apart from that all is well. Good luck for the walk and a hug for Socksie plus a big lick from Murphy, Charlie and Penny

Hi Ruth and Socksie Thanks for you message. I love the Lake District, you are lucky to live there. Murphy and the girls are lucky too they have a paddock next to the house where they can play and chase rabbits (the rabbits never get caught though). The only problem I have is finding somewhere to sit; often the two settees and the chair are occupied by hounds so I end up on the floor. It's a good job they are so loveable and get away with it.
