Hi Sheba, why, after we have a bit of rain, is the mud on our previously dry field paths two inches deep? On the subject of MUD, I have decided I would like to reincarnate Flanders and Swann who composed and sang the song “Mud Mud, Glorious Mud”. If they and their friend THE HIPPOPOTAMUS think that MUD is so great then they can bloody well turn up on my doorstep with buckets of soapy warm water and sponges and give me a hand cleaning two deliriously happy and very dirty girlie gundogs. It would serve them, F and S and the Hippo, right (plus I would like to see a HIPPO trying to hold a sponge let alone give a wash to her princessliness very skitty knickers Sarika!!!!). Today I am sending over a small lamb and a peppermint flavoured striped hard boiled sweet.........................they are a clue to the appropriate words for my GRUMPY OLD MAN mood.......BAH HUMBUG!!!! Dobes slept through the chaos so, like him, I am off to have a lie down now! x

Hi Sheba, NEWS FLASH....NEWS FLASH.....NEWS FLASH..... ANOTHER SHOCK HORROR AWE FILLED SENSATION. People of Berkshire in the United of Kingdoms have been stunned by the incredible news from the davidmh kennel. Her Princessliness Sarika ....... a member of The Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Royal Household, she of the ”butter wouldn’t melt” expression, she of the human eyes and the perfumed botty burps, the Laydee of the Month of Lurve, also known as Her Gorgeousness and, by Purdey, as Miss Goody Twoshoes............ has disgraced herself. On a walk this morning she did a Purdey, SHE ROLLED IN SOMETHING UNMENTIONABLE AND VERY SMELLY. Her human slave (now on tranquillisers) and the incorrigible one, the Poomonster, looked on in complete bewilderment. The sleeping dobes has yet to express an opinion. TV news crews from the Doggy Channel are on site and the Ambulance Service are administering to many stunned passers-by. What next?!!!! Will Sarika become the Poomonster? Will Purdey give up her title willingly? Will Max wake up? A bottle of pop and a fillet steak for you while we are waiting for answers to these fundamental questions. x

Hi Sheba, what a lovely weekend, perhaps THAT was our long awaited summer? We walked up the Thames a couple of times and much fun was had by all....well, except perhaps for the duck which Purdey chased.....or the tennis ball which Sarika managed to sink.... it is a tough life being a tennis ball round here! The weekend’s big news was that Sarika and Purdey found a new friend who we are calling Tommy (pic in kennel if you can get there!). Max hasn’t met Tommy (who might even be a prince, who knows) because dobes opted for sleep rather than exercise. Because of Tommy the girlies are sending over a HALL.....Purdey wanted to send mouthwash too but that is her problem, serves her right for picking up Tommy with her mouth......all will become obvious, hopefully. Have fun x

Hi Sheba, some people say that you shouldn’t NAME and SHAME unpleasant behaviour on DoggySnaps. Well, I am going to make an exception to the rule because, quite frankly, enough is enough........The NAME is.....PURDEY...............THE SHAME is.....FOX POO. Now I guess that some people probably think I exaggerate Purdey’s prideliction for recycled animal dinners.....well, this time the gorgeous little sod has got her comeuppance because I took a photograph of her in her fox poo finery and I have put it in her kennel for all her friends and supporters to see. Serves her right. The clean and fragrant ones, Princessliness Sarika and His Baldiness, are dropping off virtual photos of themselves.....”unpooed” they said somewhat smugly! Have fun x PS New new computer still working, PHEW.

Hi Sheba, how are you? This is our first DS visit for a while because I’ve simply got fed up with my continuing difficulty in getting into my kennel. Everything is fine here, Her Princessliness remains just that and dobes is asleep. Today’s treat is practical and necessary, a bottle of eau de dogogne.....VERY necessary in our case as our sensational news is that Purdey is no longer THE POOMONSTER, she is now THE STINKMONSTER. She has stopped rolling in recycled animal dinners (no doubt aware that a BATH will result) and has now taken up rolling in places where there are just strong smells (and, yes, I know what that could be!). You can imagine the scenario.......she comes running out of the fields and she is not covered in poo.......PHEW .......which rapidly changes to COR, WHAT IS THAT EFFING STINK as she gets closer. More baths await, methinks. I daren’t change her name on here however as, if I do, it will probably take me even longer to get into my kennel! Have a good day x

Hi Sheba, how are you? Something extraordinary happened here earlier........THE SUN WAS SHINING. Based on the year so far, and the weather forecast, this could have been the summer so it was walkies time along the river with the girlies and, yes, dobes too, although he needed to be carried after 50 yards! Today’s treats, apart from our good wishes and some pork sausages, are a sunshade and, just in case the forecast is correct, an umbrella. Back soon but my ability to sort out a new computer arriving today will determine when! Have fun x PS It is raining again.

Hi Sheba, how are you? I have just heard a joke....What do you call a man with a spade in his head?.................Doug! I thought that was funny, I think I am cracking up because of the problems accessing my kennel. I now get in by putting Sarika's name in fetch, clicking on a picture and following the links to her main one. Hey Ho. Anyway, allowing for my cracking up and the poor weather (it is summer after all), we are all well here. The girlies and sleeping beauty are such a joy and great fun and we feel blessed that they are part of our lives. I do have another problem though, I've even created a thread in the Lampost.....it is that age old male swimwear question...SWIMMING SHORTS or SPEEDOS? So, to canvas opinions, the girlies and dobes are today not only delivering a piece of fillet steak but also a pair of shorts and a pair of speedos. What do you think? Have fun x PS Have just heard another joke.....There are three types of people...those who can count, those who can't!..................C>>R>>A>>C>>K>>I>>N>>G>>>>>>>>U>>P!!

Hi Sheba, how are you? My birthday celebrations continue, how lucky I was to be three weeks premature, my liver and I could be very tired by what should have been my real birthday in mid August. It is a lot of fun though!!!! I took the girlie gundogs to the Gamefair at Blenheim yesterday. They were much admired and Purdey even met some of her Slovak relatives. The funniest thing was watching her make friends with a water buffalo, I have never seen a dog stretch its neck so long while in "ready to flee because I am not actually sure what it is " position. She ended up licking the buffalo's ear. Sarika was above it all...buffalo, horses, eagles, ferrets etc etc..they are not humans (her favourites) so hardly worth a princesses interest. Max, as befits one of his age, stayed at home and slept. Today, apart from our best wishes of course, we are delivering a water buffalo's dropping, mainly because we don't know what else to do with it...it is rather large and, as yet, unrolled-in, the Poomonster still being "not too sure". Have fun x.

Hello, remember us? We have told Mum she has to get her act together and get back on D.S. toot sweet. We have got some smashing pals we've met on here and we don't want to lose them. So here we are again. General news at the moment. I'm ( kc ) starting my Gold Citizen Award training next week, Mums in such a state, thinks she'll let me down. She's been taking me to a different pub every Sat lunch time, only for an hour, with her sister, just to help me relax more in strange company, well thats what she says, can't understand it, whenever they go up to that wooden wall thingy they come back with drinks, must be a well or something up there. All the same I am enjoying it, get loads of fuss made of me. Skip is very dodgy on his legs now, can't walk very far or fast, no surprise last week when a snail overtook him, he, he, sorry Skip, we'll wait for you. He can still manage to get on the settee with Dad in the evenings. Colleen......much about the same, very calm, confident and laid back, nothing phases her. Oh nearly forgot, I got best in show a couple of weeks ago, usual comments, did the judge forget his glasses, was you the only entrant, how much did Mum pay him. Just ignore them, I won fair and square, came home with 4 rosettes, 2 picture frames, loads of treats and 11 tennis balls. Love to you all, from KC Skip & Leanie.xxx

Hi Sheba, how are you? I have not been on DoggySnaps much recently and have just logged on to find that my dear old Max has been nominated for this month's Hunk of the Month, Sunshine Superdogs. I am very chuffed about that and should anyone vote for him (via private message in lisahorry kennel by 5pm Friday 25th July) it would be wonderful. In the meantime I approach my *0th birthday tomorrow with great trepidation so on behalf of me and the nominee and his two supermodel girlfriends I am sending not only a bacon roll but also a request for some anti-ageing pills, should you ever find some, in hope that they a) really exist and b) work!!! (I know that the supermodels hardly need them but, trust me, the need is urgent as far as me and the nominee are concerned!) Have fun x

Hi Sheba, treat 200, well done, well we had a great walk yesterday evening. Well, to be precise, it was great until the moment when I attached Purdey's lead. You see I hadn't noticed that she had rolled in something and I am actually not sure, on reflection, whether I noticed before or after the deer's breakfast was on my hand. And did it pong, you ask? Well, it took five washes in soapy water and treatment with tomato sauce (useless) and tomato puree (much better) to get rid of the stink....and that was just from my hand! Purdey, the gorgeous little sod, required more drastic treatment and is now, thanks to the tomato puree, a RED Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. Sarika looked on with regal disdain at the chaos and also increased her human vocabulary somewhat, doberdog was, yes that is right, sleeping. Today we thought we had better send over some dog friendly bleach so that, if you are lucky enough to find and roll in some deer poo, you can be restored to your former glory without changing colour. Have fun x

Hi Sheba, I am just taking a break from the packing (we are off to Dorset for a couple of days in search of the elusive salmon). Outside it is a grey day here but inside it is mocha latte ice cream coloured, well the kitchen is. I think that I might have overfilled the ice cream maker. At least licking it straight from the walls saves on the washing up and at least it is absolutely scrumptious. So the girlies (who are currently asleep beside me as I type and are, judging by their movements, dreaming of things they chased yesterday), me and Max, if I can drag him away from the newspaper, are dropping off some of the new ice cream, fresh from the walls. Back soon, have fun x

Hi Sheba, you should have seen the mess. I got back late last night to find that my canine bosses had decided to experiment with my ice cream maker. It took several hours to get the kitchen back to something like a proper order. However those who must be worshipped have insisted that I deliver their concoctions. So from Sarika we have "champagne and rosewater" ice cream, from Purdey we have "vanilla and sweet cinnamon" ice cream and from Max we have "duvet and blanket" sorbet. The ONLY problem is that all three have been mixed in the same bowl so it looks, tastes and smells a bit odd. I am sure that you will work it out though so enjoy and have a great weekend. PS Only joking about Max's, he actually made tomato and basil sorbet. x
