Hi Chris, Nice to here from you, I have also been busy, so equally haven't looked at this site for several weeks. In addition, in February, I caught a virus which left me with a terrible chest infection. I was so drained of energy, so have got behind with the garden and general chores. The dogs are very understanding, but still need to be exercised. Fortunately, I am next door to the woods, so just staggered along while they could run and 'chase squirrels'. Also, they have the garden to play in. I have only just shaken off the infection and now have my energy levels back. I still have a runny nose which I am told is caused by tree pollen!!
I am hoping to go on holiday to Scotland in my motor home on the 20th, so looking forward to the break. Of course the dogs will come with me and we hope to have some nice walks in the Highlands. I plan to meet up with several friends while there.
How are you all? Is Millie becoming more mature now or is she still acting like a puppy? My two are improving as they get older, but Isla still rushes at dogs unless I can get to her first. She is basically friendly but is so boisterous. However, she is lovely with people and Gemma is also much more at ease with people now.
Hope you all have a great summer and please keep in touch.
Best wishes, Martin xxx

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL MY DOGGY-SNAPPING FRIENDS!
True to any holiday time I have been into the vet.'s three times in about 18 hours!
Floss has a cyst on her third eyelid, but it is a lot better today - we were prepared for surgery. So, more drops and anti-biotics.
During these gales the door blew open [we now have it locked] and Horatio, Tallulah and Alfred escaped............. 4 hours later Tallulah arrived home muddy and triumphant, hose pipe, followed by loose box. Another half hour Alfred limped home - more washing; I think he has a slight strain of his second toe.........
At last Horatio arrived an hour later, whilst hosing off black mud from the river bank and our field, I saw that he had a hole in his back and a tear on his shoulder, 8pm. I was lucky, there was still a vet in the surgery - 12 staples later............... Doing well today wearing his lampshade/halo!!!
Hope you all spend a happy, relaxed and doggy Easter,
Love from Lynda, Molly, Floss, Horatio, Bert, Alfred, Tallulah, Tig, Caíomhe and Ruairi xxxxxxxxx

Hi Chris, hope all is well with you and Millie. Yesterday would have been Toby's seventh birthday, so I was feeling pretty sad. But now I have a new baby to cheer me up. I got a little rough coat male Brussels Griffon for myself as a Valentine's day present. He is adorable and into everything. I always said I would never get another puppy or a dog that I would have to groom, well, guess I have to eat those words. I already have him in my kenel so come visit. He loves visitors. Jackie

Hi Chris, Hope all is well with you. I don't know if I had already told you this, but I lost Toby very unexpectedly on Dec 28th. He was well on the 26th, did not eat and was very lethargic on the 27th, collapsed the morning of the 28th and died, in my arms, 5 minutes after I got him to work. The vet thinks it was his heart and very possibly that the snake bite he suffered last summer may have affected the muscles of his heart. Needless to say, I am very heartbroken. He would have been 7 this month. But I am getting along better, mostly because of the other 14 babies. They still need their mommy. On a cheerier note, we left Millie her 1,000th treat. What an honor!! Take care, Jackie

Hi!! Hopeall is well with you and your family. We have had a couple more additions to our gang, but they were already adopted. I had this gorgeous female boxer come in. Her picture is in the kennel. She had been dragged behind a truck, but she is doing great now and we found her a wonderful family to adopt.........Take care and boxer hugs from all of us here........Jackie

Hi Chris, Yes I do feel an idiot, but glad I found the private messages; it is a good idea if you don't want it to be in the public domain. I haven't really done much since my visit to Edinburgh and Glasgow on the 8th Sept, although I did go to London overnight a fortnight ago. Luckily, my fellow Scot. country dancer, Thelma, enjoys coming here to look after my two girls. She is a good walker and likes to be able to stride out. Some dogs she looks after are rather old and she cannot take them far. I am going back up to Edinburgh at the last weekend this month from Thursday p. m. to Monday a.m. Thelma will look after them again. Fortunately, they are getting more amenable to other dogs which makes me happy. Otherwise, I am catching up on chores in the garden. Now we are into October, we have access once more to the whole of the beach which enables the girls to have a good run either chasing balls or seagulls!!! My mother is also waiting for a hospital appointment so I know what you are going through. I hope you hear soon so you can feel free again. Hugs to Millie, love Martin, Gemma and Isla

Hi Chris, I must be mad, but I have just realised there are private messages that I have never looked at, so am replying to your message from last July. I do find it so interesting regarding the intereaction between Milly and Waggy. I have had severe problems with my two, and other dogs and it basically comes down to fear rather than aggression. Because Isla was bullied by the other dogs in the family where she lived, she is very wary about meeting other dogs. If she knows them, then all is fine as she doesn't fear them. The problem was that when Isla charged in to show she was 'on top', Gemma would join in!! Like Millie, if I put Isla on the lead, it would make her more agressive, so I persevered and every time we met a strange dog, I would tell her to 'be gentle' and eventually she started to approach more gently. Consequently, the other dog would not react and Isla started to realise that other dogs are rarely aggressive and she is learning to trust them. Also, because Iala is more relaxed, Gemma is completely unconcerned and usually ignores the other dog and continues to chase squirrels! Occasionally, Isla will relapse, but it is getting rarer and I am now able to relax, so walks are getting more pleasurable as it was with Bella. She would never get aggressive and at any sign of agression, she would run away! I hope Millie is continuing to progress and bringing you much pleasure. Best wishes from Martin, Isla and Gemma.

Beautiful memories are wonderful things They last till the longest day They never wear out They never get lost and can never be given away. To some you may be forgotten To others a part of the past But to those who loved and lost you Your memory will always last. xxxxxxxxxxxxfresh red roses sweetheart and a hug xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
