Hi Ian. I'd welcome some recommendations for Llangollen thanks! Am getting worked up already though. I HATE driving on motorways and get really nervous and sick at the thought of it. Honestly I've been driving for 20 years, but rarely use motorways and I'm always scared of the lunatics doing a zillion miles an hour. Odds on I get lost as well. I take simple directions and am find until I get to the country roads, then ALWAYS take the wrong turning (usually on a roundabout) and end up miles from where I want to be. Typical woman!! Anyway, did your dad get his new car? I was promised a report, my man!! Debs.

Hiya Ian. Well all that needed doing was the silencer thingie on the exhaust so it didn't break the bank thank goodness! Luckily I have a good mechanic who wouldn't dare rip me off (as well as a butter wouldn't melt look, I can also do a very good 'are you kidding me' glare - hee hee). I can afford to tax it at the end of the month now. Well you've had your fair share of cars I must say. Yes I remember the kit cars well but I didn't pass my test until I was 22 and was ripped off with my first car - an Escort. My brother-in-law took me to his 'friend' who had a garage and I bought this car - well my dad lent me the money and I paid him back. To cut a long story short, it kept breaking down and the garage wouldn't do anything. After eight months I took it elsewhere and got a call at work asking me to go to look at it - NOW. The floor of the car was so rusted it was surprising I hadn't fallen through it whilst driving. The engine was knackered but more frightening was the brake linings. They had been 'replaced' at the garage I bought it from (although nothing was in writing). Yes, replaced with brown paper and painted gold!! The mechanic working on it asked how long I'd had it and when I replied eight months he asked how come I wasn't dead yet!!! I was furious as I'd taken my (then) 3 year old nephew on holiday in it and he was always with me when I went anywhere. It cost me £500.00 to make it safe to drive and I sold it. I also went back to the garage where I'd bought it and played hell with the assistants - the owner disappeared when he saw me coming. I then went round the forecourt and told everyone viewing cars why they should not buy off this man. He closed down shortly after - wonder why? Since then I've had four cars and I've chosen them all myself. That way, if they are rubbish, I've only got myself to blame. Luckily out of the four, only one has been rubbish and that was a Fiat Panda. I've stuck with Fords ever since. Ah well, had a good day off work. I now feel lighthead as my haircut was a good 'un - i.e. not got much on top now! It's been freezing here though and it's now 7pm and I'm just getting warm. Back in work tomorrow as I didn't win the Lottery (shucks) but then it's weekend - hurrah! Debs.
