Hi Bridie, how are you? My birthday celebrations continue, how lucky I was to be three weeks premature, my liver and I could be very tired by what should have been my real birthday in mid August. It is a lot of fun though!!!! I took the girlie gundogs to the Gamefair at Blenheim yesterday. They were much admired and Purdey even met some of her Slovak relatives. The funniest thing was watching her make friends with a water buffalo, I have never seen a dog stretch its neck so long while in "ready to flee because I am not actually sure what it is " position. She ended up licking the buffalo's ear. Sarika was above it all...buffalo, horses, eagles, ferrets etc etc..they are not humans (her favourites) so hardly worth a princesses interest. Max, as befits one of his age, stayed at home and slept. Today, apart from our best wishes of course, we are delivering a water buffalo's dropping, mainly because we don't know what else to do with it...it is rather large and, as yet, unrolled-in, the Poomonster still being "not too sure". Have fun x.
Hi Bridie, humans have decided to call the new ginger fluff ball 'Tigger', he is curious, greedy, mischievous, playful, he bounces, leaps, jumps, hisses but he is OK. When he is microchipped, I know, he will be here to stay. Steak treat today. Love, Dylan xx xx
******************* SAM’S (BESTMAN) SPEECH**********************
Laydees and knights, pooches of all ages. Before I begin I would like us to toast all of our friends that have gone to Rainbow Bridge. We love and miss you all so much. We know that you will all be watching over us and sharing in Maxy’s and Shadow’s special day. Fluffy, Shadow asked you to be her bridesmaid and I know that you will be doing a wonderful job from Rainbow Bridge making sure that everything goes well (blows a kiss to Fluffy and to all our friends) If you could all raise your glasses “to our beautiful friends at Rainbow Bridge, you are here in our hearts always”
Great service Father Ted, or should I now say Bishop Ted – boy are you going up in the world. Mate you did us proud again. Well doesn’t the wedding party look fabulous. You all look great in your outfits. I think the bridesmaids look absolutely lovely. Sir Maxy you really do make a wonderful Knight in shining armour. I hope I don’t look too ridiculous in tights hahahahah. Shadow you look absolutely stunning – Maxy you must be glowing with pride.
Maxy my bestest buddy in the whole world (turns to his best mate) – what can I say? I met Maxy back in February at Ash’s and Mischa’s wedding. We hit it off straight away and it is hard to believe that we have only been buddies for about 5 months. I feel like I have known him all my life – he feels more like a brother to me. I think we knew we would be buddies for life when I lent him my speedos to wear to the beach cos he couldn’t find his own (hahaha). They were quite a tight fit cos as you can see he is quite a bit bigger than I am, but rather than complain he looked on the bright side and said they were fine cos they showed off his manliness more (winks as Shadow) I am sure that Shadow will agree.
I remember our first poker game. There wasn’t really a winner cos we kept eating the pot (well we played for bonios) hehehe. We sunk a few pints of Guinness too didn’t we mate. Enjoyed our nights out ever since.
I remember the day he came running to my kennel so excited to tell me that he had found the love of his life. I was so glad when he told me it was Shadow because she was a friend of mine and I knew straight away that they would make the perfect couple. I have watched their blossoming romance with great joy and interest and was so over the moon when they said they were getting married. Maxy asking me to be his best man was the biggest honour and I hope I have done a good job mate.
Maxy and Shadow my dearest friends I hope you have a wonderful doggymoon and keep us posted on your travels, obviously we don’t want all the ins and outs hehe. I wish you both all the happiness in the world and may all your skies be blue. Let’s raise our glasses and toast Maxy and Shadow, the lovely bride and groom. Love you guys (big manly hug for Maxy and a kiss and a hug for Shadow). Maxy buddy, don’t cry mate, your armour will rust and seize up again hahahaha. XXXXXX
Hi Bridie, hope you are well. We are back from our holiday in Lincolnshire and we all had a very good time, we will add some photos soon, the dogs especially enjoyed Skegness beach all that sand as it's just pebbles were we are and it was dog friendly. Now for the news on Jacks x-ray, the vet said he has a torn ligament or something in his knee and scar tissue so it wont get any better (not sure what it all means can anyone explain) and he also has artheritis in his hips so he is now on metacam for the rest of his life as it keeps the inflamation down and so relives the pain. Bubble and squeak is your treat for today xxx
Hey Bridie, how are you? Well the weather is still very hot, so hot in fact that we don't really want to go walking very far, we would rather just stay in the shade and spalsh in the paddling pool, its a hard life! Leaving Jelly and ice cream xx Roper, Badger, Bear, Moose, Sox and Prada
Hi there Bridie, how are you today? Well it's a lovely bright morning here today for a change, no torrential rain - yet! Hope you've had an exciting morning walkies. Morning walkies was always Gissy's favourites as the morning dew held a delightful bouquet of smells irresitable to a sensitive nose! Thank you for continuing to visit Gissy's kennel & leaving him tributes, we do enjoy reading them & hearing about your daily doggy antics. You are a precious friend to us as you were to Gis. Enjoy your weekend! Leaving you some lancashire hot-pot for your treat, love Gissy's very proud mum xxx
Hello Bridie, I have been to my hydrotheraphy today for my arthritics, the lady who looks after me, ordered some S.T.P (Stop The Pain), it comes from America & is specially formulated for horses but they have developed a supplement for dogs, so we hope to give it a try & it works. Yesterday, my Mum & Dad started to making our 'scarecrows' for the village festival, this year the theme is movie magic. Most of the entrants do figures, we always enter 'animal scarecrows' & this year will be no different, if our ideas work, we will post them on my kennel in a month's time, We are assembling 5 animal characters & one human figure. The Sunday roast is today's treat. Love, Dylan & the cats: Kizzy, Patches, Lucy, Whisky, Zebedee & Skimble xx xx
hi bridie, how are you today, well the bootfair went good we only lasted 2 hrs as it was raining but people couldn't stop buying stuff from mum and dads stall, i got lots of fuss, one lady bought some dog treats for her dog and kept giving them to me, well todays treat is a pair of wellies, an umbrella and some burgers from the burger van at the bootfair, wags and woofs shadow
hi Bridie xx what a day today is rain rain and more rain :0( well the washing machine has broken down its only 10 months old to, plus to make things worse the man came to fix it yesterday and he didnt have the right part as its stainless steel so mum was not a happy bunny, mum asked the man when it would be fixed he said ''how long is a piece of string'', a sharp exit was made by the man heehee, anyway when we go to Wales we can use our washer there so all isnt too bad, as its raining and chillly today im sending you a bowl of warm chicken soup, hope you enjoy the longest day love Bonnie and hubby Oscar xxxx
i am a poor poorly puppy again today, have to go see that horrible vet man again tomorrow, mummy mist is also under the weather, she has a water infection, mummy is up to high doe. thought we'd pop in and say hello though, leaving you some of my porridge tonight, love kizz and mist, xxxxxxxxxxx
Youhoooooo Bridie I have had a great afternoon playing with my friend Harry in his nans garden, at first I couldn't be bothered and just plodded round sniffing at everything, as you do. Harry was sooo insistent, barking and running round me like something demented, that I gave in to him, under protest of course, didn't want to seem too eagar, we had a bit of a chase round, I even floored him, but mummy says he tripped over his own feet. Cheek. It was me that tripped him. Leaving you peking crunchy duck . wags and sniffs Jenny xxxxxxxx
Hi Bridie hope you are well. Jack has to go and have an xray on his leg on wednesday 18th as it's still bothering him, it can be ok for a month or so and then he starts suffering again, it all started when he was playing ball and twisted it, poor old Jack. Then on the 20th we are going on holiday to Lincolnshire for a week with the dogs as well so don't know when i will be able to visit again, mums mum is coming to cat and house sit whilst we are all away, I will update you on all the news soon after we return. Leaving you tripe on toast xxx
Hi Bridie, i hope you laydees are having a fab time, (hic) me no not a drop has touched my lips (hic) no i haven't eaten all the buffet yet, cheek, besides mummy done loads of grub, (hic) well I'm glad you girls are having fun, shadow about is she, oh alright i know I'm not supposed to be here, i know when I'm not wanted I'm now going, oh before i forget got you a plate of party food & a cockertail i think its called a pink lady, enjoy, love & licks Maxy moo, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Cooooooeee Bridie, don't forget the hen do tonight, we are meeting the time machine at Bonnies' (bonniemaquire) at about 8.30pm. Another sunny day but it is a bit coolish to say the least. I enjoyed my trot up the back fields, when I reached the top there were half a dozen ramblers all geared up as if they were on a hundred mile hike, just having a mid-morning snack. Well this opportunity couldn't be missed, so I pushed mummy out of the way, and went up to the nearest sandwich eater wagging my tail. and YES, it worked, I got a pat on the head and a bit of a ham sandwich, yummy. After that I went round them all. Mummy was very embarrassed. Thank you for the delicious treat, here are some markies for you. wags and sniffs Jenny xxxxx
Hi Bridie, sooooooooo good to see you sweetie, its me stag do tomorrow night, you know what that means, hahahaha, well not much happening here today, quite a nice day, had a good romp up the park & several snoozes, now today's tip, there is a misconception that your human will take you for a walk, this suggests that they will lead you, WRONG, the lead is affixed to you, therefore the responsibility lies with you in the direction of travel, go where you want; your human will follow, if they try to restrain you, make loud gagging & coughing noises when other humans are around, your humans will fear that someone may report them for cruelty & will therefore ease off the restraining, always use this point in time to run faster, hahahahaha, i got you a raw hide chew today, love & licks Maxy moo, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
