Dear Jackson and Kia, Mum's sent you a message and can't understand where it went. It was quite a long message too. Hope you find it somewhere in this site, as it's getting late and I can't write anymore. Love to all, Fluffy.

Dear Jackson and Kia,
I'm so sorry to hear that you are not well, Jackson. I hope that you get better very soon. I know that your mummy and Kia are looking after you very well, because they love you to bits. Mum's not been on DS for a very long time as the dreaded computer just simply hates us and constantly shuts down. We have lost valuable data each time it happens. Mum's got photos that was stored and now has simply vanished. Mum did show me the photos from her holiday with you and they were hilarious. Can't understand why she doesn't like trekking through the muck in the moors, wish I had been there instead. Dad has put up the wallpaper that he bought in Ipswich. It looks fantastic. The house is looking great, still things to do but they have lots of time to do it. I have my own bachelorette pad in the courtyard. Mum's put up a small two man tent, decorated and furnished it with everything I need. There are lots of colourful rugs on the floor, a doggy couch with lots of pillows, a basket full of my toys and a handy little pouch that pops up into a little cubby for me to sleep in. There's even space for guests. So if you guys happen to come downunder we would be happy to put you up. This will be our first Christmas in Port Kennedy. Mum's all excited. We are going to get a 6ft tree for the large window. Maybe mum will get a 1ft tree for my tent. Can't wait to see what Santa brings me this Christmas. Have you guys made out your Christmas list yet? Mum saw a cute little doggy outfit for me, that said "I've been GOOD Santa, I promise" But then there was another one that said "Santa...define GOOD!" Well, I hope that you get better soon, Jackson and take care too Kia. Your mummy must be worn out looking after everyone and everything. Love her lots, Jackson and Kia and tell her we think the world of her. Mum's just fed me sardines and rice, which I love. Am sending you the same so you can recover quickly and have your coats all shiny. Take care and missing you heaps, Love Fluffy and family.

Hello Jill,
This will be brief. I blame it all on Brickies Gazette......... Paul asked if I would contribute something........... 2,500 odd photographs later, the office nearly finished being cleared, thrown out, filed [after refusing to go in there for the last FEW YEARS]
When I said 'yes' I didn't realise what it would entail. I hope I will finish it today [the office and landing where I threw everything!!!]
Sending happy thoughts of friends and animals no longer with us and halcyon days of yore on Dartmoor.
Regards,
Lynda at Chaos Corner

Hello Jill,
I hope you have completely recovered from your bout of flu. I have not had any Dartmoor news recently so I hope the weather has been good and none of those low cloud/drizzle/missly days. We are all ok here except Bert who is for the vet. in the morning to investigate an infected nailbed.
Last Sunday our friends from Dublin came to stay and we went to the opera at Castleward which is a rather gorgeous stately home, it was the home of the Ward family; it is unique in the fact that it is half Gothic and half classical design. The story goes that the Lady of the house wanted the 'new Gothic' and himself decreed that it should be Classical.... so the front is one the back the other [don't ask which is which, having said that, I'm not sure which IS the front!!!] The designs vary inside the house too, you can soon pick out who specified the designs where. The estate comprises of 820 acres with frontage onto an inlet of a sea loch - Strangford Loch. There are footpaths, bridleways and many attractive walks in the gardens which are extensive.
We have been there several times to the opera, to visit the house and at an outdoor picnic with Phil Coulter; that was a lovely evening, for once the weather was warm and sunny [and we remembered the midge repellent.]
The Opera is held in the stone barn in the main courtyard to the house. There is a tunnel to the main house where the servants could run to and from the kitchens and laundry without getting wet.
The Opera company is made up of an orchestra of 20 and a cast of about 25 [couldn't count them all at the same time!] I don't know how many the barn seats but I would guess about 150. Adjoining the barn a marquee is set up for dinner, it is possible to use the catering available there but most people bring their own dinner ..... champers .... wine..... coffee .... candalabrum........ flowers....... kitchen sink!!!!!
I did the food [thank God for M&S] I made the original recipe Constance Spry Coronation Chicken and it turned out to be a big hit - nobody more amazed than me!
Malcolm is a great cook, but not such a good cleaner-upper.............. I'm the cleaner and not so good at the cooking, although my polythene wrapped cookery book sits next to the Aga emblazoned with 'Lynda's Bible'!! Shirley wrote that on it for me last week.
Castleward is about 1.25 hours from here cross country by the main lanes.
The operetta 'the bat' by Richard Strauss, lovely tunes, you can hummmmm along was sung in English, costumed in present day clothes and the libretto was right up to the moment including 'Susan Boyle and Simon Cowell', we just laughed and laughed. The consensus of opinion was we would be happy to repeat the night out any time. The cast had a BBQ in the middle of the courtyard c/w the orchestra........ it all cost less than a ticket for the show of 'Britain's Got Talent'!!
No photos available, I went without my phone; as for remembering the camera...... I forgot the SERVING SPOONS, let alone the camera! I wore navy/grey full length, couldn't wear my usual black: Jessie ATE MY SHOES!! I cannot find any others at any price at the moment, so no black formals/funerals....
The friends departed for Dublin on Monday morning by which time I was feeling ghastly, I unloaded the jeep, put in fridge/dishwasher, took 2 co-codamol and hit the horizontal where I remained until 9.30 this morning. I still feel like a wet dish-cloth but I'm fit enough to write to you anyway.
I hope this finds you all well and those dogs a-waggin’,
