Hi Holly, how are you? This is our first DS visit for a while because I’ve simply got fed up with my continuing difficulty in getting into my kennel. Everything is fine here, Her Princessliness remains just that and dobes is asleep. Today’s treat is practical and necessary, a bottle of eau de dogogne.....VERY necessary in our case as our sensational news is that Purdey is no longer THE POOMONSTER, she is now THE STINKMONSTER. She has stopped rolling in recycled animal dinners (no doubt aware that a BATH will result) and has now taken up rolling in places where there are just strong smells (and, yes, I know what that could be!). You can imagine the scenario.......she comes running out of the fields and she is not covered in poo.......PHEW .......which rapidly changes to COR, WHAT IS THAT EFFING STINK as she gets closer. More baths await, methinks. I daren’t change her name on here however as, if I do, it will probably take me even longer to get into my kennel! Have a good day x
Hi Holly, how are you? I have had a BRILLIANT idea. I have put BRILLIANT in capitals because it REALLY is. I have two hairy gundogs who are currently moulting into their summer coats - Sarika (injured paw much better) a bit, Purdey a lot. Purdey is shedding so much hair I thought we had a new puppy the other day, in fact I had already named it before I realised it was just Purdey cast offs! So two doggies with hair to spare...and then of course there is Max, who is certainly follically challenged ie bald...and then there is me. Now I wouldn't say I was bald but I was in a bank the other day, in a queue, when I noticed the security tv was showing the queue. On the screen there was some chap and the light was reflecting off his bald bits which seemed to cover his entire head. I was just thinking who is that poor bald "person of unknown parentage" when I realised who it was. Hmmmmmmm. So I have got dogs with spare hair and I've got Max the baldy and me. Simple, collect the hair, add a bit of glue and Max and I will be new hairy men - BRILLIANT. I am just not too sure about the colours - gold and dark grey - so we are sending some tufts over with a tube of super glue. See what you think. Have fun x
Hi Holly, great news, I am pleased to announce that Star Wars Jabba the Hutt is alive and well and living in Berkshire! It is ME. Or should that be Mr Blobby as never have I, David, scoffed so much as I did over Easter? And it was wonderful!!! It is why I haven't managed to get on DoggySnaps - first I got stuck in an armchair and then I couldn't see the computer keyboard for chins (mine). Back on the diet next week methinks. All three of the doggies are absolutely fine, Her Princessliness Sarika was lame following tearing a claw up into the nail bed but is now 100%, Purdey the ponging poomonster hasn't found anything delectable to roll in recently so all walks are currently approached with trepidation and, like his "dad", the old fellow and champion botty burper Maxwell is also perking up a bit now that spring is, hopefully, about to.... spring. To help me out they are delivering things for your humans which I will not now be needing ie various Cadbury products - 3 tubes of mini eggs, 6 cream eggs, 4 packets of chocolate raisins ( a mix of milk, plain and white chocolate... yummy...in fact, on refection they are so yummy it will only be 3 packets!!!!) and 2 very large bars of fruit and nut chocolate. And something more doggy appropriate for you, a slice of smoked salmon. Enjoy x
Hi Holly, how are you? Sarika, Purdey, Max and their aged slave wish you and yours a lovely Easter and are sending you each a virtual Easter Egg full of happiness. x
Hi Holly, well at one stage I thought I had a lump on my back but it was OK, it was only a sofa! Six hours of televised rugby on a Saturday can do that for you. The weather has been awful here so only one word is necessary to describe the doggies over the weekend and that is DIRTY. Actually I could add a couple of other words too but I doubt they would be allowed by the site censor. To celebrate the various victorious rugby teams the girls and doberdog are delivering something Italian, pasta, followed by something Welsh, poached sewin (seatrout), followed by something English, treacle pudding and custard. And Purdey the poomonster is adding a savoury(!) course of something she "found" on our walk - I am not prepared to describe it, you will have to guess what it is (or for that matter, was!!!) but, my goodness, it smells. I use the word "enjoy" with some caution. x
Hi Holly, strong winds, heavy rain and deep and thick mud. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad I have got hairy gundogs who love walkies! I stand a good chance of getting both dogwashers elbow (like tennis elbow but doesn't require a bat!) and agedhousehunk's knee (like housemaid's knee but doesn't require a frock - well, except, perhaps, on Tuesday's!!!!) with all the cleaning (girlie dogs and house) taking place at the moment. Thank goodness for the DoggySnaps photos - they at least give me some idea of how the East European lovelies are meant to look! Thank goodness also that dobes prefers sleeping. A brief David's Dreadful Diet Report, after 10 weeks I have lost 1 stone 3lbs and now I am having a break until after Easter. As a clue as to what is on my eating agenda, sooner rather than later, in fact very much sooner, the mud babes and sleeping baldy are today delivering a tub of Haagen-Dazs icecream - dulche de leche flavour. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY. Enjoy x
Hi Holly, THE GOOD NEWS, it is DDDD65 (David's Dreadful Diet Day 65) and yesterday was weigh day...guess what, 1 stone 2 lb gone now. I am very chuffed because I did scoff a lot of really yummy stuff at the wedding on Saturday. I guess that the excess has gone because it has got jolly cold here and I have exercised and shivered it off. Turning off the central heating and keeping all the windows open was clearly one of my better ideas although I am not convinced that Mrs Davidmh agrees, it is the first time she has ever had a bath while wearing gloves and a hat!!! Ho Ho (only joking but what a very good idea...Hmmmmm...!). And now the doggies: well, they are all blooming, the girls are getting plenty of exercise and Max is slowly increasing his awake hours. THE UGH NEWS, speaking of Max, he had an "accident" of the "dumping" type in the kitchen yesterday; guess who cleared it up? It wasn't him, it wasn't me or the begloved and behatted wife and, of course, it wasn't the princessliness Sarika. Purdey cleared it up, if you know what I mean! As a result the Poomonster will not be kissing me in the near future! THE TREAT NEWS, I made a thai red prawn curry for Mrs Davidmh yesterday and there is some left over so the girls and doberdog are dropping that off with some sticky rice. Enjoy x
Hi Holly its the weekend again so we are stopping by to wish you a good one. The weather here is totally wild today, so so so very windy and wet-hope its better with you. Have a great weekend. Love Roo, Sascha and Ella xx
Hi Holly, yesterday I thought I was living with howler monkeys. I got back from my regular trip to the supermarkets where, as usual, I had been looking at food and touching the bottles of wine....dieting David also know locally as "here comes that sad of unknown parentage"... anyway, I digress...I returned to a veritable cacophany of sound. All three dogs, even sleeping baldy, were howling - I have no idea what had set them off although I had left the excellent Semisonic album "Feeling Strangely Fine" playing on the CD player so maybe they were trying to sing along! You should have heard the noise...LOUD..Er..no..it was VERY VERY VERY LOUD. In fact it was so embarrassingly loud that I, as there were people walking by, pretended I didn't live here...I rang the bloody door bell.....luckily also my next door neighbour is deaf, otherwise I might have found the RSPCA on the doorstep. Anyway, never ones to miss an opportunity, today the girls and doberdog are dropping off a copy of their newly made cd - "canines do howler monkeys do Semisonic" - apparently Max is on drums, Sarika on bass guitar and Purdey on lead and all are doing the "vocals" (I use the word "vocals" very loosely!!). It could go to number 1, but I am not sure in what! Enjoy (I also use the word "enjoy" very loosely!!). x
Hi Holly We are stopping by to wish you a good weekend. We hope you get lots of walks and have lots of fun. We are leaving you a bag of toys to play with over the weekend. Love Roo, Sascha and Ella xx
Hi Holly, today the girls and doberdog are delivering A STONE each as a present. Sarika, her princessliness, is delivering A STONE (precious) - you get to chose from a diamond, a ruby, an emerald and a sapphire - pick whichever you want. Purdey, currently, but no doubt temporarily, a fox/deer/duck poo smell free zone, is delivering A STONE (semi precious) - jet, opal, amethyst or aquamarine - as before you get to pick. And Max, when he wakes up, will be delivering A STONE (common) - your choice from pebbles he found on a walk At STONEhenge and very pretty they are too, one even has a fossil in it (no, not me!). This delivery is occuring to some background music, some provided by A group called STONE The Crows, some provided by A group called STONE Temple Pilots and also the song Ruby Tuesday by A group called the Rolling STONEs, because we Admire itS TONEs, although Max would probably prefer a lullaby. Have fun x PS It is DDDD51 (David's Dreadful Diet Day 51) and it was weigh day yesterday.....guess how much weight I have now lost? PS2 There are clues in the message PS3 TEEHEE, time for a mega booze up methinks x.
Hi Holly,..........it is Valentines Day. Today Sarika, also known as the Ladyee of Lurve, Purdey also known as the Poomonster, Maxwell Doberdog, also known as the Sleeping Baldy, and their Human (me.....also known as A Bit Slimmer - 12lb off now!) are sending you all - doggies and human slaves - a virtual Valentine card, with all our love x
Hi Holly How are you today? We are fine and enjoying a beautiful day here today. We went for a lovely walk in the forest on Saturday and are off on a long walk tomorrow with our three big doggy friends. Leaving you some pasta and smoked sausage. Love Roo, Sascha and Ella xx
Hi Holly,...today's question...is supermodel status going to Sarika's head? Not only does she, like her "sister", now refuse to get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day but the Laydee of the Month of Lurve rather disgraced herself yesterday. Bear in mind that she is an Hungarian princess - first we had a quite distinct BURP followed shortly afterwards by a very audible BOTTOM BURP - in fact it was so loud she frightened herself and scarpered! It did make me laugh though and for a moment there I thought I was back in my old rugby club!!!! Purdey has always been rather basic (or is the required word normal?) but Sarika, the princess, her ladyship, her most graciousness, has always been rather above such elemental things. The bottom burp was actually fragrant, in fact quite clearly perfumed, so I guess she redeemed herself a tad. Maxwell Doberdog was of course oblivious to it all, being asleep - even the noise did not disturb him. Today the girls and dobes are therefore dropping off some "just in case" treats - earplugs, a cork and a noseclip. Oh yes, they will also chuck in some food because dieting David (ie me) is still fantasizing and therefore I need to mention some yummies - this time it is a fillet steak, rare, with chips and peas and mushrooms and an onion and tomato salad and lots of English mustard and, of course, a cherry bakewell tart again (still dreaming!) and custard, lots of custard! MMMMMMMMMMMM. Have fun x
Hi there what a cutey you are great pic my name is Benji iam a goldern retriever next is Tyson a jack russell terrier then there is Kia she is tysons daughter another jrt.Do come by and see us wont you treat time some tuna yum xxx
Hi Holly we are just stopping by to wish you a very happy and exciting weekend. We are having a lazy day today, just napping-awh bliss!! Leaving you some pizza and chips for tea. Love Roo, Sascha and Ellaxxx
Hi Holly, ...a RANT AND A LAUGH TODAY. First the RANT.....What is it about some cyclists? On our walk this morning I saw a cyclist coming down the footpath. I called Sarika and Purdey (Max was still asleep), they came to me, and, with them, I stood off the edge of the path in a field which had young corn growing. Whereupon, as he came by, I got a load of abuse from the cyclist about standing on the crop etc. I pointed out that I had collected the dogs and got them out of his way despite me, as a pedestrian, having right of way over him on the path. It had been clear that he wasn't going to stop. He said not to worry about the dogs because if they came anywhere near him he would kick them out of the way. It is probably not advisable to put my next words and thoughts in writing!!!!,.....And now a LAUGH......We found Sarika and Purdey stuck to the fridge this morning, the little sods had been at the fridge magnets so I guess it served them right! It made walking quite entertaining when we got near things metal. Only joking! Today's treat from the girls and doberdog is a no-go area for difficult cyclists and a fridge magnet (recycled!). Have fun x
Hi, Holly well we had a good day yesterday and today. Mum has a few days off this week and we all went with her to our uncles house yesterday. Sascha is much better now and she got her yearly booster and she has tablets for her heart from now on. Today mum took us upto the forestry commission walk and we had a great time and Ella was able to get off the lead as there was no one else around. We are leaving you sweet and sour prok for tea. Love Roo, sascha and Ella xx
Hello Holly, mum had a good time with the kids today at playgroup, 12 little ones attended with their mums and grans. I really did miss her and was glad when she came home. Dads bone scan cam back clear. we are thanking the Lord for the results.
we have had another very wet day. the floods are getting very bad. we are still alright. we have a river close to us, which has risen. it will take a lot more rain before it floods. mum said our weather pattern has gone crazy. it is great to visit you again. thank you for calling by. treats today pigs snouts and pancakes. take care. love Tess & Buster. ♥♥♥
