Hi Dweezel, how are you? I have just heard a joke....What do you call a man with a spade in his head?.................Doug! I thought that was funny, I think I am cracking up because of the problems accessing my kennel. I now get in by putting Sarika's name in fetch, clicking on a picture and following the links to her main one. Hey Ho. Anyway, allowing for my cracking up and the poor weather (it is summer after all), we are all well here. The girlies and sleeping beauty are such a joy and great fun and we feel blessed that they are part of our lives. I do have another problem though, I've even created a thread in the Lampost.....it is that age old male swimwear question...SWIMMING SHORTS or SPEEDOS? So, to canvas opinions, the girlies and dobes are today not only delivering a piece of fillet steak but also a pair of shorts and a pair of speedos. What do you think? Have fun x PS Have just heard another joke.....There are three types of people...those who can count, those who can't!..................C>>R>>A>>C>>K>>I>>N>>G>>>>>>>>U>>P!!
Hi Dweezel, how are you? My birthday celebrations continue, how lucky I was to be three weeks premature, my liver and I could be very tired by what should have been my real birthday in mid August. It is a lot of fun though!!!! I took the girlie gundogs to the Gamefair at Blenheim yesterday. They were much admired and Purdey even met some of her Slovak relatives. The funniest thing was watching her make friends with a water buffalo, I have never seen a dog stretch its neck so long while in "ready to flee because I am not actually sure what it is " position. She ended up licking the buffalo's ear. Sarika was above it all...buffalo, horses, eagles, ferrets etc etc..they are not humans (her favourites) so hardly worth a princesses interest. Max, as befits one of his age, stayed at home and slept. Today, apart from our best wishes of course, we are delivering a water buffalo's dropping, mainly because we don't know what else to do with it...it is rather large and, as yet, unrolled-in, the Poomonster still being "not too sure". Have fun x.
Hi Dweezel, how are you, soon to be numb gum David here today. I managed to break a front tooth vertically again yesterday, it serves me right for eating broken biscuit cake straight from the fridge (I blame she who has just got back from university, I hid the cake so she wouldn't pinch it!). "That is a very crunchy biscuit" I thought until I found the gap in my tooth. I am temporarily being referred to as FANG but at least my soon-to-be visited dentist is beautiful. All is well here otherwise, glorious weather and all the doggies are enjoying life. As a treat we are sending over a bit of broken biscuit cake (if you find any very crunchy bits perhaps you could let me have them back) x
Hi Dweezel, today's very special treat is a worm. Yes, that is right, A WORM. Purdey has just presented it to me and I am, of course, thrilled!. I think something might have happened to it, of the rolling nature, because Purdey has something on her back and the worm is a bit flattened. Anyway I am sure you will have fun with it. I am only letting Sarika and Max deliver it because I have an awful feeling that the Poomonster would bring it back! Have a great weekend x
Sorry it's only a quick visit, Mum's been really busy. Leaving your weekend treats - pizza & garlic bread, luv Gis (the whizz-retired) xxxPS thanx for the treats you left me too! x
Hi Dweezel, what a fabulous weekend here. Glorious sunshine and warm too, tracks dry and doggies mud free. Saturday's party went well, the canine threesome behaved beautifully (it is difficult to resist the girlies when they lay their heads on your lap and look adoringly at you - interesting that it always seemed to happen when sausages were being scoffed!), and yesterday we all went to a BBQ, more yummy food. Today the girls, who have just had a seriously good playtime at Bramshill (new pics), and dobes are dropping off weekend leftovers - scallops wrapped in bacon, chicken and bacon burgers and vodka and orange trifle. Hang on a minute, I will just have another spoonful of that trifle - Hmmm, that's better. Have fun x
Hi Dweezel, the work on the doggies only ark has stopped!!! Not because of workers industrial action (when I say workers I use the term very loosely as I, of course, refer to Sarika, Purdey, Maxwell and me and Maxwell is asleep and the other three of us are pretty useless at ark building!), not because of poor pay or long hours or union policy. Nope, work has stopped on HDS (His David's Ship) WOOF because the sun has come out. It is dry and warm and long may it remain so. Following various incidents featuring my fingers and thumbs, the hammer and me, I am sure that I heard a sigh of relief from the aforementioned digits (those that remain) when we decided to down tools. As a result, today the girlies and dobes are delivering some Soltan factor 25 sun lotion, a knotted handkerchief (also known as my sunhat) and my hammer (because it will be safer if you look after it). Have fun x
Hi, just a quickie, going camping for the weekend whilst it's nice. Hope it keeps like this, I'm only a fair-weather camper! Hope you are well & have loads of fun over the bank holiday. See you soon, leaving you loads of jaffa cakes - our favourite midnight camping nibbles!!!! Enjoy & have fun!!! luv Gis (the whizz-retired) xxxxxxx
Hi Dweezel, how are you? Getting older has simply nothing to recommend it, I realised that this morning when I was looking for my glasses. I knew that, being as blind as the proverbial bat, I had absolutely no hope of finding them unless I was actually wearing them, if you SEE what I mean. And I will not mention the senile moments which seem to come now with increasing frequency - did I shut the door? which door? why did I go upstairs? what was that I said I wouldn't forget? And the worrying thing is that I still have the male menopause to come!!!! Anyway, at least the doggies are all flourishing, the girlie gundogs spark each other off and seem to be in a permanent state of puppydom and it is wonderful and long may it last. And although Dobes is obviously beginning to feel his age and is sleeping most of the time, he remains a happy little chap. And none of them have to wear spectacles, the lucky sods. Today the threesome are delivering a bird's feather found by Purdey on our walk, a hair tie (Sarika's favourite toy, she loves it put on her nose) and a duvet (slightly used) from Max...oh yes, and an empty spectacle case. Have fun x
Hi Dweezel, how are you? We have had a lot of rain here over the weekend and the tracks have turned into muddy streams. Now I was never a Boy Scout but I remember their motto "Be Prepared", so I have decided it is time to build a boat, just in case we get more floods. I was going to call it an ARK but then I thought "No er, someone has already done that". So I have decided to call it a BARK. Not BARK as in sailing ship but BARK as in WOOF. In fact, on reflection, I shall call it a WOOF.... DAVID'S WOOF.......that has got a nice ring about it, don't you think? Anyway, it is for doggies only so let me know if you would like to reserve a place on DAVID'S WOOF, reasonable rates. Yesterday I made some thai fishcakes which were yummy so the girls, doberdog and I are sending some over with sweet chilli sauce. Got to go now because there are people at the door, OOH ER it is the men in white coats!! Have fun x
Hi A POORLY TEDDY here well i am never ever going to drink again 1st the girls stitched us up and went to bermuda With GIS & MR BEN ?? Well i was enjoying myself when all of a sudden i was THROWN into the sumo wrestling ring i nearly died there was BAZ the rotty waiting for me well he grabbed me and i was flung out the ring i did cry a bit but his brother who is my cousin FREDDIE came and cuddled me well we went to the bar for the belly dancer and it was only WINSTON & ELLA But then all these females came in and didnt we have fun !!!!!! even sam let his fur down TOGGLE the tart went off in the bushes with a poodle CARRICK BLAZE and DIXON were snogging in a corner DIPSY BUDDY& BIGGIE were strutting on the dance floor Well as you know i dont tell tales but KOLO BARNEY BEN and BUTTONS done a vanishing act they were sniffing round the waitresses well we went to bed about 4am ANGUS done a wet blow off in the bed BOB was smoking his cigar on the balcony OZZY was out of it and i was snuggled up in my bed until GIMLI tried to get in with me he said TED i will show you i am a HUNK well i was lucky because JASPER came in the room with DESMOND and they gave gimli a cold shower as for the girls at FLUFFYS party i did have MY FEMALE SPY there so tomorrow i will tell you about the LAYDEES party ???? also ask ROSCO FOXY OSCAR & MAXYMOO what they got up to !!!!!!!!! and if you hear any rumours about ME there not true ask PIP & TOBES because they tell the truth Well thanks to SAM for inviting us all treat today ALKA SELTZER love TEDDY xxxxxxxxxx
Hi Dweezel..."here we are again, happy as can be".......AND this time we really are. Claws and paws have healed and tummy upsets seem to have dried up so the doggies are fit and well, (Max is still doing his Rip Van Winkle impression but I think that has something to do with his age ZZZZZ!). However I HAVE decided to keep my nurses uniform on, just in case (TEE HEE). Had a wonderful walk with the girlies yesterday in a nearby forest (Bramshill, home of the police college), weather was fabulous although very windy (my fault for having baked beans on the baked potato), tracks were great, lakes were full and numerous things were chaseable (I got quite out of breath at one stage!) - it was such fun that none of us wanted to come home. I REALLY LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR. Anyway enough of that, today we are sending you a full English breakfast (because I fancy one), another bottle of New Zealand sauvignon (the last one went down very well!) and, of course, our very best wishes to you and yours. Have fun x
HiDweezel, "here we are again, happy as can be".......except we are NOT because it is back in the veterinary nurse's uniform again for me (any excuse!)........ and very fetching, or something, I look too!!! Sarika did another claw yesterday, I think that she hit a stone whilst charging around endeavouring to remind Purdey as to exactly who is the boss. Although there was a lot of blood at the time, it has already healed, so, although she is a bit lame still, that isn't the problem. No, today, instead, nurse David is clearing up after the upset stomachs of those two rather silly girlies who drank some rather unpleasant looking puddle water, no accidents in the house yet, thank goodness, but it is not the easiest thing to deal with in a wet garden! I fail to understand the attraction of stagnant puddle water, not that I have actually tried any but I doubt it has that lovely gooseberry and nettle tang of a nice glass of New Zealand sauvignon wine (do you know, my mouth actually started watering when I typed that!!! - How sad is that?). Anyway today we are dropping off useful stuff, some water purification tablets and, should you forget the tablets, some baby wipes and, most importantly, a bottle of NZ sauvignon for the humans. Have fun x
Hello pups and humans. Have not been on for a while as mummy and I have been very sad. My human daddy died last week and it's all been a bit much. A friend of mummy's said she should keep doing normal things so we're back on doggy snaps. We've had lots of long walks but that's the only good thing. Sending you some cheese and crackers for a treat. Snuffles, Lilliya.
