Hi Benjie, I have been painting with my tail & for days had a 'Applewhite' designer tail with delicate flicks on the ends, the cats have been keeping me busy, bit scared of Tigger, he sometimes blocks me in the kitchen & I have to bark so my Mum & Dad can remove him to enable me to get pass, it is those sharp things at the end of his claws, I don't like, he is into everything, the washing machine, dishwasher, he jumps onto my Mum back & she has to piggyback him to the settee, he has even learnt how to paw out the cat food out of tins. Do you remember Arthur, the white cat on TV a few years back?, he has copied that trick. Zebedee, sadly has been catching birds, we tried to save them, but as you know, once a cat catches one, sadly their fate is sealed, she attempted to revitalised one with water, he did respond but a few seconds later died in her hands. To human news, my Mum tried to set the kitchen alight, she made some watercress homemade soup & turn down the gas when she did something else, forgot to turn it off completely & when later put down her favourite doggy fleece on the stove ready for the next wash, went out to hang the first wash on the line, needless to say, the fleece went up in flames, she was so cross with herself for being so silly but it could have been a lot worse, if it had been Dad's shorts she could have replaced them from M&S but this fleece was a one off. I have been off my medication apart from joint care, to see how I fare, still get tired and I still get a limp but now the weather is cooler, it doesn't seem as bad, I tend to run around like a mad thing for the first 5 minutes & then run out of energy, if I meet my friend Susie, she keeps me going while the Mums chat. I am leaving you some Cullen Skink, my Mum has learnt her lesson & always double checks the gas ring is turned off. There is probably more to tell, but I haven't been in contact for a while, so might have forgotten some antics. Love, Dylan xx xx

Hi Benjie, humans have decided to call the new ginger fluff ball 'Tigger', he is curious, greedy, mischievous, playful, he bounces, leaps, jumps, hisses but he is OK. When he is microchipped, I know, he will be here to stay. Steak treat today. Love, Dylan & the cat team xx xx

Hi Benjie, today didn't start as we planned, my Mum hasn't been happy about Kizzy, one of our cats so she went to th vet & I had my anal glands empited, we then went a nice walk along the sea front, I was joined by one of my best friends Lucy, I am her toyboy as she is 6 months older than I, we did have a nice paddle in the sea & played fetch with my ball. Mum also decided to put the conservatory fan we had brought from the old house into our bedroom, it was quite expensive as we paid for a silent one that doesn't buzz as the wings spin & has been in a box for 4 years, the reason behind the idea, Mum & Dad sleep with the window open so I don't get too hot at night but if the cats misbehave, I bark & my Mum & Dad are worried my loud bark will wake up the neighbours during the unsociable hours, so hence they hatched this plot, my Dad doesn't know Mum has gone ahead with the idea as he is out tonight, she just hope he agrees with what she has done, as they could be just a little hiccup, the ceilings are lower here, certainly much lower than our old conservatory roofing & Dad being over 6ft tall, the fan is only 6ft above the ground, bumps on the head comes to mind, so my Mum has moved the bed to accomodate the fan. Naturally, I was there overseeing the work was carried out to my specifications, I even got on the bed to monitor the work. Leaving you a chicken kebab tonight. With love, Dylan xx xx

Hello Benjie, I am feeling a bit sorry for myself, my joints are giving me a some jip, I go to another hydrotheraphy session on Sunday & the lady who looks after me has ordered some S.T.P (Stop The Pain), it comes from America & is specially formulated for horses but they have developed a supplement for dogs, so we hope to give it a try & it works. Today, my Mum & Dad are starting to make our 'scarecrows' for the village festival, this year the theme is movie magic. Most of the entrants do figures, we always enter 'animal scarecrows' & this year will be no different, if our ideas work, we will post them on my kennel in a month's time, We are assembling 5 animal characters & one human figure. Leaving you canapes treats for Summer Solstice. Love, Dylan & the cats: Kizzy, Patches, Lucy, Whisky, Zebedee & Skimble xx xx

Hello Benjie, before I tell you about my antics, our condolences for Gis & his family, he was a good friend & we all all going to miss him so much. After quite an uneventful week, I was on good form this morning with my walk (that was until, I got too hot). Firstly, I had to chase Zebedee, one of our cats back to the house, he has a habit of following us on our walks, all claws out, as he tried to deter my attempts to get him back home, needless to say, Mum & dog outwit the cat. Next, I met the Old English Sheepdog from the farm, who had decided to go for a walk by himself, I am not too keen on Henk, he is bigger than me, Mum grabbed him by the collar & phoned the lady, as we weren't that far from home, Mum decided it was a good idea to put him on my lead return home to fetch the spare lead, I was having none of this, so I barked & tried to get Henk away from my Mum, he slipped his collar & ran, although, this friendly warning was instigated by myself, I am not to blame, my Mum says he is a nice dog but he is a little bit too friendly at times & I have a long memory. Anyhow, off he trotted home & was caught by Patsy, a German Pointer & her human. Patsy is more tolerant than me & they led Henk home, as I was pulling on my lead (just trying to assert my authority). Watercress soup, devilled eggs & honey roasted salmon today, my Mum is experimenting again. Love, Dylan & the cats: Kizzy, Patches, Lucy, Whisky, Zebedee & Skimble xx xx xx xx

Hi Benjie, how are you, soon to be numb gum David here today. I managed to break a front tooth vertically again yesterday, it serves me right for eating broken biscuit cake straight from the fridge (I blame she who has just got back from university, I hid the cake so she wouldn't pinch it!). "That is a very crunchy biscuit" I thought until I found the gap in my tooth. I am temporarily being referred to as FANG but at least my soon-to-be visited dentist is beautiful. All is well here otherwise, glorious weather and all the doggies are enjoying life. As a treat we are sending over a bit of broken biscuit cake (if you find any very crunchy bits perhaps you could let me have them back) x

Hi Benjie, it is my birthday today & guess what, I am at the vets along with Whisky, one of our cats, I have left you a slice of my cake & given Mum my messages to send to my friends, as I will be on the vet's table along with Whisky, paws crossed we both have nice dreams. I know my Mum is anxious, with the phone beside her, but hopefully they will sort out my limp & Whisky's bad tooth, as we are both a bit uncomfortable. She is taking this opportunity to wash all my water bowls in the dishwasher & wash our bedding, just hope she doesn't forget to cook the chicken for our homecoming. Enjoy your cake, & when I am better, it will be a good excuse to have another party. Love, Dylan, Whisky & the other cats x

Hi Benjie, I have had some BRILLIANT NEWS, well, actually, to be accurate, I have had some NO BRILLIANT NEWS or, more precisely, some BRILLIANT NO NEWS. Confused? Well how do you think I feel because I make this up as I go - and it is only the third sentence!!!! Hey Ho. Anyway, when the Olympics was awarded to London for 2012, I came up with an excellent plan. In my garden is the kid's old sand pit. So I wrote to Lord Coe and offered the use of the sandpit for one of the most important Olympic events, the lady's beach volleyball competition, you know the one with beautiful girls and bikinis. And the BRILLIANT NO NEWS, well I haven't heard anything yet which means that they haven't turned me down. I reckon I must be on the shortlist, if not perhaps already selected. The letter might be in the post!!! On the other hand, I suppose there is a remote possibilty that my offer might have been consigned to the waste paper bin, they might have thought that I was some sort of nutter....moi....a nutter....what do you think? Hmmmmmmm, perhaps not! For some bizarre reason the girls and dobes are today delivering a bucket of wishful thinking and a request for any spare straitjackets. Have fun x. PS I am definitely going to have to go and lie down now in a moment...I think I have finally gone mad!!!

Hi Benjie, how are you? Getting older has simply nothing to recommend it, I realised that this morning when I was looking for my glasses. I knew that, being as blind as the proverbial bat, I had absolutely no hope of finding them unless I was actually wearing them, if you SEE what I mean. And I will not mention the senile moments which seem to come now with increasing frequency - did I shut the door? which door? why did I go upstairs? what was that I said I wouldn't forget? And the worrying thing is that I still have the male menopause to come!!!! Anyway, at least the doggies are all flourishing, the girlie gundogs spark each other off and seem to be in a permanent state of puppydom and it is wonderful and long may it last. And although Dobes is obviously beginning to feel his age and is sleeping most of the time, he remains a happy little chap. And none of them have to wear spectacles, the lucky sods. Today the threesome are delivering a bird's feather found by Purdey on our walk, a hair tie (Sarika's favourite toy, she loves it put on her nose) and a duvet (slightly used) from Max...oh yes, and an empty spectacle case. Have fun x

It seems ages since I last visited you, I am soooooooooooooooooooo sorry. Mummy has been busy with the past couple of weeks. We're back now:) Sure have missed you!!! Hope you are OK? I'm doing good! Went on a GREAT picnic on Tuesday with my mum, Hollie, Emma and Connor (the kids my mum nanny's for) there were lots of food, and I got to eat some leftovers, which were very tasty. We did lots and lots of running around and rolling about. The weather was wonderful for it! I hope we do it again soon. I love playing with the kids :) Tonight, I am leaving you some fish and chips. Again, I apologize for not being around much. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Lots and lots of love, your friend always Alfie xox
