What a smashing boy Muttley was, and how lucky to have you as his owner. I'm sure he wouldn't want you to be sad, and I know it sounds hard to contemplate at a time like this, but if your house seems quiet, fill it again with another friend. There are so many special, homeless dogs out there needing a loving owner like you and it doesn't mean you're replacing Muttley - no dog could ever do that - you're just giving him a successor!! We buried our Toot's ashes the other week in a lovely planter in our front garden - it means I say "Good morning" when I open the curtains, "Good night" when I close them at bedtime, and "Hiya Tootsie Boy" each time I pass.
