Hello Bandit and the gang, Romany Ree here, Shona has now gone back to Uni in Leeds so Mam and I have reclaimed the computer and can communicate at leisure with our DS friends again. Yippee! Well, the other day Mam was flicking through her Robinson's catalogue which is full of horsey and doggy stuff when she suddenly had one of her 'I don't believe it!' moments. The offending article it seems was on page 220 - 'A Robinson's collapsible pet stroller' which apparently is 'suitable for dogs up to 10kg'. "Anyone who buys a dog so they can push it around in a pushchair ought to be taken outside and shot!" she raged. I think she takes a hard line on this one! Mind you, is this the same person who has just bought me a new heart-shaped ID tag - in pink! ( "That's different!" she snapped.) And just the other day I overheard her say "Daddy, what time are we taking the baby dog out?" !!! THE BABY DOG! I ask you. Has she forgotten I'm a rough tough farm-bred collie with ISDS papers and everything/ The words 'pot' and 'kettle' come to mind! Sending you page 220 of the Robinson's catalogue so you can see for yourself. (I'd shred it if I were you), lots of love Romany Ree xxx

Hello again Romany here. Ever since I arrived here Mam has wanted to call me 'Romany Ree' but she doesn't know quite why. So she keyed it in to the search thingy on the computer, and apparently the 'Romany Ree' is an old traditional Scottish dance. It's also an old fisherman's fly-tying technique (the'Romany Rye and the Romany Ree'). But Mam thinks it's possibly something from her childhood - possibly the chorus of a song, or a character in a storybook perhaps. Just the sort of thing that would have been in those wonderful Rupert annuals - 'on his way home for tea, Rupert bumped into Romany Ree' - that sort of thing. Any ideas would be most welcome. But it gets dafter! Just recently she's started calling me 'Romany Ree from number forty-three'. So Shona says 'but we don't live at number forty-three.' And Mam says 'yes, but forty two doesn't rhyme!' There really is no hope is there? Sending you some fruit cake today as it seems appropriate! love Romany Ree from number forty-three'. (Well, forty-two really!) xxxxx

Hi there, Romany here. Shona has gone to the pictures so Mam and I have nicked the computer for the afternoon. It's funny but when I first arrived here, it got dark early on an evening and when I went in the lounge there was always another puppy staring at me from the other side of the french windows. When I barked she barked back. When I hid from her behind the chair she disappeared, and when I peeped round at the window again she was there again! But then the nights got lighter and the puppy stopped coming. But recently the nights have been drawing in again and the other night there she was, staring back at me from the other side of the french window! Except now she is much bigger and doesn't look like a puppy anymore. I keep barking at her. I even know her name now. She's called 'Your Reflection'. I know this because Mam told me ('Romany, that's your reflection', she said). Funny name for a dog don't you think? Sending soup and rolls as it keeps raining. love Romany xxx

Hello there, Romany here, Mam's been so busy with me lately she hasn't had much time for DS and says she is getting withdrawal symptoms. On Sunday we went off to Pets at Home again for some goodies and a couple of gadgets to stop me pulling on the lead and trying to chase cars. (Mam's having kittens about it!). Everyone in the shop loved me and wanted to make a fuss. I got so excited I weed myself - twice! Luckily Mam was expecting this and had brought extra tissues (tee hee). Anyway when we were in the woods the other day I was charging up and down the track getting far too excited, and I was just thinking about taking a sneaky chunk out of Mam's leg as I ran past when I forgot to look where I was going and crashed straight into the trunk of a giant oak tree. I flew through the air with a big yelp and landed in a heap. Mam checked my mouth to see if my teeth were still all there (they were), and said if I'd been a human I would have been knocked unconscious, taken to hospital, treated for concussion and kept in overnight for observation! But we collies are tougher than that! Although It did take nearly ten seconds before I was running about again. Got a heck of a wallop though, and think I will be more careful in future. Sending you a pork roll from Pets at Home and some bits of tree trunk I found in my fur. love Romany xxx

Hello you lot, Romany here, sorry we haven't been on for a few days but Mam has been very busy - with me mostly! The garden is now partitioned and Mam can plant her pots again on HER side. At the weekend I went on my first visit to Grandma's on Teesside. It was a 2 hour journey but I was sooooooo good and just curled up and went to sleep until we got there. It was a good job they brought my crate though as Grandma's house may have got reorganised otherwise (not to mention the garden!) Grandma loved me and said I had lots of 'personality'. It was Mam's birthday too (she's dead old), so there was cake laid on, but I wasn't allowed any!!! Off to the woods soon, so sending some bluebells and some shredded wrapping paper from Mam's present. (It was a book called 'Be the pack leader', I wonder what that's all about.) love Romany xxx

Hello Bandit and the gang, Romany here. Well, I really like it here. I've been out for walks this week and it's great' I had no idea there was life outside the garden. At the weekend I found a way through the hedge to the field at the back (much to Mam's alarm). So Mam and Dad have been running round in a flap with chicken wire (excuse the pun!) to block any escape routes. As if that wasn't enough Dad is also partitioning the garden! Anyway Mam says we're off to somewhere called 'the woods' later. Would have sent you a bee but it got away. Sending bacon sizzlers and an empty crisp packet to rip up instead. love Romany xxx

Hello , Bandit and everyone, Romany here. I just don't understand it. Outside our door in a super-duper hutch and run set-up (which apparently cost Mam a fortune), lives Rainbow the Rabbit. How exciting I thought. I have raced round and round the run. I have barked. I have tried to round him up. But HE'S NOT SCARED OF ME!!! He hasn't even the decency to run off, and today he just stared me out! Mam says 'don't be so daft. He wasn't scared of Anya. He wasn't scared of Morag. And he's certainly not scared of you!' Hmmmm, I'm off for a kip to think about it. Sending some rabbit droppings which escaped through the bars. love Romany. xxx

Hello , Bandit and all, Romany here. Yes I've certainly found my feet now. Speciality is doing the garden. Check out my new pic! Haven't managed to fall in the pond yet though. Mam says Morag fell in every five minutes. Tomorrow we're off to the vets for my second jab and more fuss from the girls who work there. Then soon we can be off for walkies. Hooray! Today I have been dead-heading daffodils, so I'm sending some of those. love Romany xxx

Hi there , Bandit and everyone! Romany here. I'm feeling really at home now. My Mam and Dad think I am absolutely adorable. (They're right!) Today Mam went off to somewhere called 'the yard' to see someone called 'McKinty' who is something called 'a horse'. All I know is that she smelled fantastic when she came back. The bottom of her boots tasted good too until she caught me and took them off me. Apparently she goes there a lot so I shall get plenty of chances. Sending some shredded herbs from my garden and some delicious stuff from Mam's boots - it's fab! love Romany xxx

Hi Les and all the boys. Well Romany arrives tomorrow. It's a bit like waiting for Santa. As it's a 2 hour trip home from Ilkley Moor, let's hope she's a good traveller! I shall take lots of towels and tissues just in case! Leaving roast chicken for treats tonight. love Barbara xxx
