Hi Lulu, how are you? I have just heard a joke....What do you call a man with a spade in his head?.................Doug! I thought that was funny, I think I am cracking up because of the problems accessing my kennel. I now get in by putting Sarika's name in fetch, clicking on a picture and following the links to her main one. Hey Ho. Anyway, allowing for my cracking up and the poor weather (it is summer after all), we are all well here. The girlies and sleeping beauty are such a joy and great fun and we feel blessed that they are part of our lives. I do have another problem though, I've even created a thread in the Lampost.....it is that age old male swimwear question...SWIMMING SHORTS or SPEEDOS? So, to canvas opinions, the girlies and dobes are today not only delivering a piece of fillet steak but also a pair of shorts and a pair of speedos. What do you think? Have fun x PS Have just heard another joke.....There are three types of people...those who can count, those who can't!..................C>>R>>A>>C>>K>>I>>N>>G>>>>>>>>U>>P!!

Hi Lulu, how are you? My birthday celebrations continue, how lucky I was to be three weeks premature, my liver and I could be very tired by what should have been my real birthday in mid August. It is a lot of fun though!!!! I took the girlie gundogs to the Gamefair at Blenheim yesterday. They were much admired and Purdey even met some of her Slovak relatives. The funniest thing was watching her make friends with a water buffalo, I have never seen a dog stretch its neck so long while in "ready to flee because I am not actually sure what it is " position. She ended up licking the buffalo's ear. Sarika was above it all...buffalo, horses, eagles, ferrets etc etc..they are not humans (her favourites) so hardly worth a princesses interest. Max, as befits one of his age, stayed at home and slept. Today, apart from our best wishes of course, we are delivering a water buffalo's dropping, mainly because we don't know what else to do with it...it is rather large and, as yet, unrolled-in, the Poomonster still being "not too sure". Have fun x.

Hi Lu, you should have seen the mess. I got back late last night to find that my canine bosses had decided to experiment with my ice cream maker. It took several hours to get the kitchen back to something like a proper order. However those who must be worshipped have insisted that I deliver their concoctions. So from Sarika we have "champagne and rosewater" ice cream, from Purdey we have "vanilla and sweet cinnamon" ice cream and from Max we have "duvet and blanket" sorbet. The ONLY problem is that all three have been mixed in the same bowl so it looks, tastes and smells a bit odd. I am sure that you will work it out though so enjoy and have a great weekend. PS Only joking about Max's, he actually made tomato and basil sorbet. x

Hi Lu, how are you, soon to be numb gum David here today. I managed to break a front tooth vertically again yesterday, it serves me right for eating broken biscuit cake straight from the fridge (I blame she who has just got back from university, I hid the cake so she wouldn't pinch it!). "That is a very crunchy biscuit" I thought until I found the gap in my tooth. I am temporarily being referred to as FANG but at least my soon-to-be visited dentist is beautiful. All is well here otherwise, glorious weather and all the doggies are enjoying life. As a treat we are sending over a bit of broken biscuit cake (if you find any very crunchy bits perhaps you could let me have them back) x

Hi Lu, is it me or, at the moment, does every new month on DoggySnaps seems to bring some new sadness? So today no funnies from the strange world of Davidmh, we are simply visiting as we wanted to say hello and also to send a virtual cuddle to all our friends x

Hi Lu, what a fabulous weekend here. Glorious sunshine and warm too, tracks dry and doggies mud free. Saturday's party went well, the canine threesome behaved beautifully (it is difficult to resist the girlies when they lay their heads on your lap and look adoringly at you - interesting that it always seemed to happen when sausages were being scoffed!), and yesterday we all went to a BBQ, more yummy food. Today the girls, who have just had a seriously good playtime at Bramshill (new pics), and dobes are dropping off weekend leftovers - scallops wrapped in bacon, chicken and bacon burgers and vodka and orange trifle. Hang on a minute, I will just have another spoonful of that trifle - Hmmm, that's better. Have fun x

Hi Lu, the work on the doggies only ark has stopped!!! Not because of workers industrial action (when I say workers I use the term very loosely as I, of course, refer to Sarika, Purdey, Maxwell and me and Maxwell is asleep and the other three of us are pretty useless at ark building!), not because of poor pay or long hours or union policy. Nope, work has stopped on HDS (His David's Ship) WOOF because the sun has come out. It is dry and warm and long may it remain so. Following various incidents featuring my fingers and thumbs, the hammer and me, I am sure that I heard a sigh of relief from the aforementioned digits (those that remain) when we decided to down tools. As a result, today the girlies and dobes are delivering some Soltan factor 25 sun lotion, a knotted handkerchief (also known as my sunhat) and my hammer (because it will be safer if you look after it). Have fun x

Hi Lu, the girlie gundogs reminded me of my long lost youth today because they were chasing birds. Their targets, unlike mine in the good old days, were of the feathered variety (have no fear my ornithological friends, the bells on the girlies collars act as a very effective early warning system) with magpies and pigeons on the agenda. All the creeping, pointing and "I am invisible" positions adopted were very amusing to watch and brought back "David in the disco" memories - most of which were very painful and I am not just talking about the resultant arthritis. In their new role as a David Tribute Ensemble called "Remember the (a number I am not going to tell you, you'll have to guess)ties" the girls and doberdog are today dropping off a pair of bottle green velvet flares, a pink floral shirt, a tank top and some Brut aftershave. Hmmmmm on reflection those could explain a great deal, particularly the "lack of success"!!! Have fun x

Hi Lulu, how are you? David's gone slighly mad, Part 2....I've been busy with the naval architects on the design of my doggies only ark/bark/WOOF called HDS (His David's Ship) WOOF. Following numerous suggestions it will have a pole for dancing purposes (her name is Olga), a bandstand and a Michelin starred restaurant. It will use wind power - yes, methane produced by its passengers as fuel. Hence the restaurant, although there are a couple of doggies not too far from me right now who seemingly do not need the help of Gordon Ramsay to provide wind! We are also building a small boat which the WOOF will tow - this should be called a skiff but, in the circumstances (can you imagine the pong from the hundreds of doggies on the WOOF) we are going to call it a WHIFF. This will be for non-doggy pets such as c*ts. And we are getting a Roman slave galley built for guess who? That's right, the humans - no change there then. This will tow both the WOOF and the WHIFF on those unlikely days when the WOOF is not self fuelling. Today the girls and doberdog, as well as delivering some cooked liver treats, are sending over a raincoat and some wellington boots because they think that those might be more use to you than the WOOF when the floods come. Oh, yee of little faith. And now I am going to lie down!!!! Have fun x

Hi Lulu, how are you today? A quick visit from us because I've got a new camera, the sun is shining and the supermodels, Sarika and Purdey, are ready to pose. I am very pleased to say that Mrs Davidmh seems to have forgiven me, I was allowed in the house last night, albeit only the kitchen. All because of my plan to recycle dogs hair into hair pieces for slap heads (ie me and Max). As some have probably guessed, she hadn't heard the word "virtual" when I explained about the numerous tons of hair that the wonderful DoggySnappers were sending over. Phew. BUT I THINK I MIGHT HAVE A REAL PROBLEM NOW because this morning the postman actually delivered a parcel of dog hair (black and white). OOPS. I think I might be up-that-creek I cannot mention, without a paddle. Today the doggies are delivering a paddle to you so I know where one is if I end up up-that-creek I cannot mention and they are also delivering a baked potato with Thai green prawn curry and spinach, because that is what I ate last night and it was yummy. Which also explains why my diet restarts next week! Enjoy x

Hi Lulu, Poppy and Mack! How are you all? Thanks for the visit, it was really lovely to see you all and hear your news! Your holiday sounded like lots of fun! Bet you had a great time at the seaside, whey hey! Not so good for the sand in dad's car, but never mind, much better than mum having to clean up all that mud! I had a great time with lots of long walks and having the ball thrown for me and playing fetch. It was snowing here though so it was a bit cold and wet .... and muddy my mum said to tell you! My mum's been really busy so I haven't been on the computer for about a week, but at least I'm here for a visit now, have to make the most of my chance! I've been playing with pals all week, and last Saturday I went to stay with My Auntie Lynn and stay all night with my girlfriend Biscuit, so that was great! We had a great walk on the beach too, so I thought of the three of you then and we had a tug on the seaweed for you! My chocolate and marshmallows were delicious thanks so much! I'm sending you each a huge bag of treats, a fish cake each and a cuddly bear each, so hope you like them. Really hope to get by and see you again soon! Hope you have a great weekend with lots of fun, lots of love and cuddles, Harry xxx

Hi Lulu, you will never guess what Sarika and Purdey found in the garden last night. There is a clue in the well-known English phrase "pi**ed as a newt" (although, personally, I have never seen a newt drunk). No, silly you, it wasn't a "pi**ed as"....whatever that might be....it was a NEWT. I haven't seen a newt for many years. I have no idea where it came from nor to where it was going but I think breeding is on its agenda. Although I let it go I was tempted to keep it as a pet because I could have called it TINY as, after all, it would have been MY NEWT! (there's nothing like a good old'un as I now unfortunately have to say with increasing regularity). I could have taken it gunnewt training, I could have taught it recall or even dressage to music. I clearly need to lie down. Meanwhile the newt finders and dobes are delivering some bread and worms in case you should find a newt, if not, according to Purdey, the worms are quite scrummy. And on my behalf there is a packet of Cadbury's mini eggs for your humans because it is Easter and because I, David, think that mini eggs are even scrummier than worms. Enjoy.

Hi Lulu, strong winds, heavy rain and deep and thick mud. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad I have got hairy gundogs who love walkies! I stand a good chance of getting both dogwashers elbow (like tennis elbow but doesn't require a bat!) and agedhousehunk's knee (like housemaid's knee but doesn't require a frock - well, except, perhaps, on Tuesday's!!!!) with all the cleaning (girlie dogs and house) taking place at the moment. Thank goodness for the DoggySnaps photos - they at least give me some idea of how the East European lovelies are meant to look! Thank goodness also that dobes prefers sleeping. A brief David's Dreadful Diet Report, after 10 weeks I have lost 1 stone 3lbs and now I am having a break until after Easter. As a clue as to what is on my eating agenda, sooner rather than later, in fact very much sooner, the mud babes and sleeping baldy are today delivering a tub of Haagen-Dazs icecream - dulche de leche flavour. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY. Enjoy x
