Hi Oscar, how are you, soon to be numb gum David here today. I managed to break a front tooth vertically again yesterday, it serves me right for eating broken biscuit cake straight from the fridge (I blame she who has just got back from university, I hid the cake so she wouldn't pinch it!). "That is a very crunchy biscuit" I thought until I found the gap in my tooth. I am temporarily being referred to as FANG but at least my soon-to-be visited dentist is beautiful. All is well here otherwise, glorious weather and all the doggies are enjoying life. As a treat we are sending over a bit of broken biscuit cake (if you find any very crunchy bits perhaps you could let me have them back) x

Hi Oscar, today the girls and dobes are sending over a large matchbox. Open it very carefully because in it you will find a rather large live beetle found by Purdey yesterday morning. We are sending it over in hope that you will know what to do with it because it is scaring the living daylights out of Purdey, Sarika and Mr Wimp (ie me!). I think Max is actually pretending to be asleep so that he doesn't have to get involved! PS I'm having a "seventies" moment (not age, just the decade) and have made a lemon meringue pie, so a piece of that is enclosed too (but not in the matchbox because that beetle is so SCARY. Have fun x.

Hi Oscar, the work on the doggies only ark has stopped!!! Not because of workers industrial action (when I say workers I use the term very loosely as I, of course, refer to Sarika, Purdey, Maxwell and me and Maxwell is asleep and the other three of us are pretty useless at ark building!), not because of poor pay or long hours or union policy. Nope, work has stopped on HDS (His David's Ship) WOOF because the sun has come out. It is dry and warm and long may it remain so. Following various incidents featuring my fingers and thumbs, the hammer and me, I am sure that I heard a sigh of relief from the aforementioned digits (those that remain) when we decided to down tools. As a result, today the girlies and dobes are delivering some Soltan factor 25 sun lotion, a knotted handkerchief (also known as my sunhat) and my hammer (because it will be safer if you look after it). Have fun x

Hi Oscar, hope your ok! Well the weather is nice here today, but it wasn't lilke this the other day. Mummy stupidly thought of taking me on a walk accross the fields even though it had been raining all day, we were both jumping the puddles when mummys leg slipped out in front of her and she went skidding accross the field. I thought she was inventing some new ride for a theme park because it looked so much fun but mummy wasn't too happy because she had mud all over her bum, hehe. Luckily no-one saw because they had all been much more sensible and stuck to pavement walking! Todays treat is some doggy beer, mummy bought me some from pets at home the other day, it was delicious ;o). Loadzzzzz of doggy love from your pal Badger xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Oscar, how are you? We have had a lot of rain here over the weekend and the tracks have turned into muddy streams. Now I was never a Boy Scout but I remember their motto "Be Prepared", so I have decided it is time to build a boat, just in case we get more floods. I was going to call it an ARK but then I thought "No er, someone has already done that". So I have decided to call it a BARK. Not BARK as in sailing ship but BARK as in WOOF. In fact, on reflection, I shall call it a WOOF.... DAVID'S WOOF.......that has got a nice ring about it, don't you think? Anyway, it is for doggies only so let me know if you would like to reserve a place on DAVID'S WOOF, reasonable rates. Yesterday I made some thai fishcakes which were yummy so the girls, doberdog and I are sending some over with sweet chilli sauce. Got to go now because there are people at the door, OOH ER it is the men in white coats!! Have fun x

Hi Oscar, "here we are again, happy as can be".......except we are NOT because it is back in the veterinary nurse's uniform again for me (any excuse!)........ and very fetching, or something, I look too!!! Sarika did another claw yesterday, I think that she hit a stone whilst charging around endeavouring to remind Purdey as to exactly who is the boss. Although there was a lot of blood at the time, it has already healed, so, although she is a bit lame still, that isn't the problem. No, today, instead, nurse David is clearing up after the upset stomachs of those two rather silly girlies who drank some rather unpleasant looking puddle water, no accidents in the house yet, thank goodness, but it is not the easiest thing to deal with in a wet garden! I fail to understand the attraction of stagnant puddle water, not that I have actually tried any but I doubt it has that lovely gooseberry and nettle tang of a nice glass of New Zealand sauvignon wine (do you know, my mouth actually started watering when I typed that!!! - How sad is that?). Anyway today we are dropping off useful stuff, some water purification tablets and, should you forget the tablets, some baby wipes and, most importantly, a bottle of NZ sauvignon for the humans. Have fun x

Hi Oscar, how are you? Sarika did a somersault/back flip on Sunday, I shall call the move a "Purdey" which is also a bit of a clue as to the outcome. She was chasing a tennis ball which bounced over her head, in her excitement she leapt in the air and did a back flip after the ball .........and landed straight in something disgusting. I think that it had previously "belonged" to a deer or a badger! Sarika was and remains mortified, she is after all a LADY and so was/am I, because, somehow or other, I ended up with some of it on me. I am simply not articulate enough to describe the awfulness of the stench, not without using a fair number of swearwords anyway. Ugh..Ugh..and treble Ugh!!! Thank goodness for tomato puree (Sarika) and anti bacterial handwash (me)and the washing machine (my clothes). And Purdey clearly smiled when she saw what had happened to both Her Majesty and me (her slave), she was also quite clearly trying to work out how to get some of the pong by rolling on Sarika and/or me. Today's treat therefore is an absolute essential now, a non-bouncing tennis ball. And I am off to check my hands again. Have fun x

hi oscar how are you as per usual soooo sorry not wrote in a while but my family has been busy doing their eveyday boring stuff. I has to go into kennels a couple of weeks back for the weekend as the family were visiting some friends who have a dog and we don't exactly see eye to eye hehe. Its getting much warmer up here no longer shivering everytime i go outside and can go on the fields again as they arent so swampy yey! Yesterday i was walking along a lane when a farmdog came out barking at me my mum stood there thinking oh no (as i usually don't take to kindly to other dogs barking) but i promptly turned round and ran away as fast as i could when mum caught up with me she could hardly breathe for laughing as apparantly i had looked hilarious running away like a big wuss, so i then ignored her for the rest of the walk, so there! hehe lots of love badger leaving a treat of sausages xxxxx

Hey there Oscar, how are you today? Well i went for a walk accross the fields the other day and i got absolutly filthy when i got back i had to have a bath in the front garden beacuse mum says that i'm not going in her house until i'm half decent looking! Dad has also bought me this collar that is meant to give of a smell like our mothers did when we were young in the hope that it calms me down (well thats what it says on the package) but it doesn't really seem to be working !!! I think mum will give up soon on trying to make me a calm, obediant dog because whatever new method she uses nevers seems to work, she says i'm past help (but i know she loves me the way i am) !!! Toadays treat is shepards pie, its a bit hot because it has just come out of the oven so mind you don't burn your mouth! Lots of love from your pal Badger xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Oscar, DDDD23 (David's Dreadful Diet Day 23). Weigh day yesterday and I have now lost 9lbs. Yippee, had a glass of red wine last night to celebrate and, being the first alcohol since New Year's Eve, it had a quite excellent effect! I continue on with less food, no booze and lots of exercise and will soon have to step over the cracks in the pavement to avoid falling down them (yeah right!)........ The dogs are all healthy, he said touching wood, so we have got another POO story. On a walk yesterday the girls got into a wrestling match which ended, as always, with Sarika, a nominee for Ladyee of the month (votes by pm in BoviBoy kennel x) knocking Purdey over. But guess what she rolled Purdey over in, yes that's right an animal's dinner - but sadly after it had been a)consumed and b)recycled. YUK YUK YUK AND MORE YUKS!....... It was one of those walks home which were very slow, partly to avoid seeing anyone but mainly to give Mrs Davidmh the chance to get home from the stables and then I could say that I had a MANFLU relapse coming on and needed to go to bed and would she mind giving Purdelicious a little clean.........TeeeHeee. Well that plan failed because she was late so I had to do it myself and what a clean up job it was, I can still smell the smell now. EVEN MORE YUKS. Today's virtual treats are therefore with the humans in mind - the girls and doberdog are dropping off a "just in case it happens to you" treat - either a noseclip or a cold (your human's choice) and, as part of my celebration, I am dropping off the remainder of the red wine. Have fun x

Hi Oscar, DDDD16 (David's Dreadful Diet Day 16). Weigh day yesterday and 7lbs off now, that's the Christmas excess gone so now it gets difficult. Only a stone to go though and I was so pleased that I had to have some chocolate raisins to celebrate! The dogs health report: Sarika is now fully recovered from the nasty tummy bug, Max is still struggling with it and, unfortunately, Purdey's cast iron stomach turned out to be wishful thinking on my part as she has it too. All I can say is thank goodness for a tiled kitchen floor! Today's treats are some more of those essential aromatic incense sticks, some baby wipes and as many square metres of kitchen floor tiles as you would like. Have fun. PS Sarika is a nominee for HumanSnaps Laydee of the month for February. Should anyone vote for her, via the private message facility in BoviBoy's kennel, we would be very chuffed. Thank you. x

Hi Oscar, it is DDDD14 (David's Dreadful Diet Day 14) I am sure that my weight loss continues as I have noticed my watch strap is loose. We will find out tomorrow, weigh day 2. At least I have recovered from the "chilli experience" and am now sitting comfortably. More than can be said for the dogs: Sarika has had a really nasty tummy bug for a week, although she is now recovering she has passed it on to Max, so far only Purdey's cast iron constitution is resisting. Today's treat is therefore some aromatic incense sticks - if you were here you would know why they are absolutely essential. Have fun.
