Afternoon Meg. Hope you are well and keeping warm!! What a day here! It is very dark and torrential rain at the moment!! It is freezing cold, and feels more like November than July. I had a very early walk this morning, and got home just before the Heavens opened!! I think the rest of the day will be spent lazing on the sofa watching Wimbledon! Hehe! What a life! Take care my friend, and treat is cheesy pasta bake! Lotsa love Harvey x x Big licks Katie and Norman x x x

Afternoon Meg. Hope things are well with you. A wet and cold day here today - can't complain though as it has been so hot of late. Had a lovely early morning plod and found lots of bottles to carry home. I made mum carry one too. Well, I do have to keep her busy. Hehe! Mum had threatened me with a long hike this afternoon! How very dare she, but luck is on my side. It is now pouring with rain and the sky is very black, so I have had a reprieve!! What a result!! Curling up and sleeping is the order of the afternoon now! Hehe! Take care my friend and treat is meatballs and pasta. Lotsa love Harvey x x Big licks Katie and Norman x x x
Hi Meg, our gorgeous Purdey the Poomonster is TWO years old today, a grown up lady now. Sarika and Max are therefore dropping off some birthday cake and a bottle of pop for you. Enjoy x
Hi Meg, the work on the doggies only ark has stopped!!! Not because of workers industrial action (when I say workers I use the term very loosely as I, of course, refer to Sarika, Purdey, Maxwell and me and Maxwell is asleep and the other three of us are pretty useless at ark building!), not because of poor pay or long hours or union policy. Nope, work has stopped on HDS (His David's Ship) WOOF because the sun has come out. It is dry and warm and long may it remain so. Following various incidents featuring my fingers and thumbs, the hammer and me, I am sure that I heard a sigh of relief from the aforementioned digits (those that remain) when we decided to down tools. As a result, today the girlies and dobes are delivering some Soltan factor 25 sun lotion, a knotted handkerchief (also known as my sunhat) and my hammer (because it will be safer if you look after it). Have fun x
Hello Meg. Hope you are well and enjoying some sunshine. It's a glorious day here. Mum has been pottering in the garden and I have been supervising - making sure all is as it should be! Hehe! What a life, eh?!! Take care and your treat is a walnut and greek honey yogurt. Mum just had one and said it was delicious. Lotsa love Harvey x x Big licks Katie and Norman x x
Afternoon Meg. Hope all is well with you. It's pouring down here today - again. It was a beautiful Spring morning when I was out on my early walk, so mum did all the washing she could find. As soon as it was ready to hang out, the Heavens opened, and it has been torrential rain ever since! My house now resembles a Launderette! Hehe! Take care my friend, and your treat today is a mug of tea and a Kit Kat. Lotsa love Harvey x x Big licks Katie and Norman x x x
Hi Meg, how are you? We have had a lot of rain here over the weekend and the tracks have turned into muddy streams. Now I was never a Boy Scout but I remember their motto "Be Prepared", so I have decided it is time to build a boat, just in case we get more floods. I was going to call it an ARK but then I thought "No er, someone has already done that". So I have decided to call it a BARK. Not BARK as in sailing ship but BARK as in WOOF. In fact, on reflection, I shall call it a WOOF.... DAVID'S WOOF.......that has got a nice ring about it, don't you think? Anyway, it is for doggies only so let me know if you would like to reserve a place on DAVID'S WOOF, reasonable rates. Yesterday I made some thai fishcakes which were yummy so the girls, doberdog and I are sending some over with sweet chilli sauce. Got to go now because there are people at the door, OOH ER it is the men in white coats!! Have fun x
Hi Meg, how are you? Sarika did a somersault/back flip on Sunday, I shall call the move a "Purdey" which is also a bit of a clue as to the outcome. She was chasing a tennis ball which bounced over her head, in her excitement she leapt in the air and did a back flip after the ball .........and landed straight in something disgusting. I think that it had previously "belonged" to a deer or a badger! Sarika was and remains mortified, she is after all a LADY and so was/am I, because, somehow or other, I ended up with some of it on me. I am simply not articulate enough to describe the awfulness of the stench, not without using a fair number of swearwords anyway. Ugh..Ugh..and treble Ugh!!! Thank goodness for tomato puree (Sarika) and anti bacterial handwash (me)and the washing machine (my clothes). And Purdey clearly smiled when she saw what had happened to both Her Majesty and me (her slave), she was also quite clearly trying to work out how to get some of the pong by rolling on Sarika and/or me. Today's treat therefore is an absolute essential now, a non-bouncing tennis ball. And I am off to check my hands again. Have fun x
Hi Meg, how are you today? A quick visit from us because I've got a new camera, the sun is shining and the supermodels, Sarika and Purdey, are ready to pose. I am very pleased to say that Mrs Davidmh seems to have forgiven me, I was allowed in the house last night, albeit only the kitchen. All because of my plan to recycle dogs hair into hair pieces for slap heads (ie me and Max). As some have probably guessed, she hadn't heard the word "virtual" when I explained about the numerous tons of hair that the wonderful DoggySnappers were sending over. Phew. BUT I THINK I MIGHT HAVE A REAL PROBLEM NOW because this morning the postman actually delivered a parcel of dog hair (black and white). OOPS. I think I might be up-that-creek I cannot mention without a paddle. Today the doggies are delivering a paddle to you so I know where one is if I end up up-that-creek I cannot mention and they are also delivering a baked potato with Thai green prawn curry and spinach, because that is what I ate last night and it was yummy. Which also explains why my diet restarts next week! Enjoy x
Evening Meg. Hope all is well with you and you have had a lovely day! It has been a beautiful day here. Very windy, but sunny - very Spring like. Mum and dad took me on a long walk this evening, and I actually wanted to go! Hehe! Well, we were almost home and mum decided to throw herself on someones front garden! Oh, the shame of it. She fell over the kerb and landed, lying like Superman, in a strangers garden!! I could not believe it as she had hold of my lead and I ended up sitting on their lawn!! Dad had to pick her up, but he was looking around when he did it!! I think he was more embarrassed than mum! She is very sore now, but her pride is hurting even more. I think tomorrow, I shall disguise myself when we walk past their house!! Take care my friend, and your treat tonight is a bowl of chicken soup!! Lotsa love Harvey x x Big tail wags Katie and Norman x x x
Hi Meg, great news, I am pleased to announce that Star Wars Jabba the Hutt is alive and well and living in Berkshire! It is ME. Or should that be Mr Blobby as never have I, David, scoffed so much as I did over Easter? And it was wonderful!!! It is why I haven't managed to get on DoggySnaps - first I got stuck in an armchair and then I couldn't see the computer keyboard for chins (mine). Back on the diet next week methinks. All three of the doggies are absolutely fine, Her Princessliness Sarika was lame following tearing a claw up into the nail bed but is now 100%, Purdey the ponging poomonster hasn't found anything delectable to roll in recently so all walks are currently approached with trepidation and, like his "dad", the old fellow and champion botty burper Maxwell is also perking up a bit now that spring is, hopefully, about to.... spring. To help me out they are delivering things for your humans which I will not now be needing ie various Cadbury products - 3 tubes of mini eggs, 6 cream eggs, 4 packets of chocolate raisins ( a mix of milk, plain and white chocolate... yummy...in fact, on refection they are so yummy it will only be 3 packets!!!!) and 2 very large bars of fruit and nut chocolate. And something more doggy appropriate for you, a slice of smoked salmon. Enjoy x
Great to see you again. what a beautiful day we have had for Good Friday. the folks went to the early church service. we had a quiet day here. we went to visit Tammy and Buster when she got home. it was so good to see her. Tammy gave me lots of cuddles. she said she has to stay in hospital another week. we pray you all have a very HAPPY Easter, and our thoughts will be on the reason for this celebration. God bless, and keep safe. treat is a fish cake & a hot cross bun. love to all your family, Tess & Buster. ♥♥♥
Hi Meg, you will never guess what Sarika and Purdey found in the garden last night. There is a clue in the well-known English phrase "pi**ed as a newt" (although, personally, I have never seen a newt drunk). No, silly you, it wasn't a "pi**ed as"....whatever that might be....it was a NEWT. I haven't seen a newt for many years. I have no idea where it came from nor to where it was going but I think breeding is on its agenda. Although I let it go I was tempted to keep it as a pet because I could have called it TINY as, after all, it would have been MY NEWT! (there's nothing like a good old'un as I now unfortunately have to say with increasing regularity). I could have taken it gunnewt training, I could have taught it recall or even dressage to music. I clearly need to lie down. Meanwhile the newt finders and dobes are delivering some bread and worms in case you should find a newt, if not, according to Purdey, the worms are quite scrummy. And on my behalf there is a packet of Cadbury's mini eggs for your humans because it is Easter and because I, David, think that mini eggs are even scrummier than worms. Enjoy.
Hi Meg, goodness me it is windy here, I knew I would regret that second bowl of cabbage soup! Watched Crufts on the tv and there was that wonderful moment in the Friends for Life result when Harriet, the little girl with cerebral palsy, got upset after winning. Her dog, the beautiful Yepa, climbed onto Harriet's wheelchair to comfort her. It was such a wonderful moment it made me cry. The HWVs are such a fabulous sensitive breed. As a tribute to Yepa, her princessliness Sarika has been in the kitchen making an Hungarian goulash which she is sending over. Purdey is bringing the mashed potato and a vegetable of your choice and Max is bringing some bread with which you can mop up all those lovely juices. Enjoy x
Hi Meg, THE GOOD NEWS, it is DDDD65 (David's Dreadful Diet Day 65) and yesterday was weigh day...guess what, 1 stone 2 lb gone now. I am very chuffed because I did scoff a lot of really yummy stuff at the wedding on Saturday. I guess that the excess has gone because it has got jolly cold here and I have exercised and shivered it off. Turning off the central heating and keeping all the windows open was clearly one of my better ideas although I am not convinced that Mrs Davidmh agrees, it is the first time she has ever had a bath while wearing gloves and a hat!!! Ho Ho (only joking but what a very good idea...Hmmmmm...!). And now the doggies: well, they are all blooming, the girls are getting plenty of exercise and Max is slowly increasing his awake hours. THE UGH NEWS, speaking of Max, he had an "accident" of the "dumping" type in the kitchen yesterday; guess who cleared it up? It wasn't him, it wasn't me or the begloved and behatted wife and, of course, it wasn't the princessliness Sarika. Purdey cleared it up, if you know what I mean! As a result the Poomonster will not be kissing me in the near future! THE TREAT NEWS, I made a thai red prawn curry for Mrs Davidmh yesterday and there is some left over so the girls and doberdog are dropping that off with some sticky rice. Enjoy x
Hi Meg, well "it is good news and bad news" said my beautiful dentist "the good news is that your teeth are fine, the bad news is that your gums have got to come out!" Fortunately she is not only beautiful but also has a sense of humour - but I had better have another check-up tomorrow and the day after and the day after....etc (did I mention that she is beautiful?!!!!). Today the girls and doberdog are dropping off Terrine of Duck, Ginger and Spring Onion with Red Onion Marmalade and Toasted Brioche, Tender Cooked Fillet of Beef set on a Potato Rosti finished with a Red Onion Marmalade, Raspberry Brulee with a Grand Marnier Poached Fig plus Freshly Brewed Coffee and Petit Fours and a Selection of British and Continental Cheeses accompanied by Celery. Grapes and Fruit Chutney. That is what I scoffed at the wedding on Saturday, it is perhaps not surprising that I am approaching tomorrow's weigh in on DDDD64 (David's Dreadful Diet Day 64)with rather a lot of interest/trepidation. And, as it is a lovely day here, cold but sunny, I'd better get the dog walks in as snow is forecast so we will see you soon. Have fun x
