Hi Mist, well we had a great walk yesterday evening. Well, to be precise, it was great until the moment when I attached Purdey's lead. You see I hadn't noticed that she had rolled in something and I am actually not sure, on reflection, whether I noticed before or after the deer's breakfast was on my hand. And did it pong, you ask? Well, it took five washes in soapy water and treatment with tomato sauce (useless) and tomato puree (much better) to get rid of the stink....and that was just from my hand! Purdey, the gorgeous little sod, required more drastic treatment and is now, thanks to the tomato puree, a RED Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. Sarika looked on with regal disdain at the chaos and also increased her human vocabulary somewhat, doberdog was, yes that is right, sleeping. Today we thought we had better send over some dog friendly bleach so that, if you are lucky enough to find and roll in some deer poo, you can be restored to your former glory without changing colour. Have fun x
Hi Mist, well that was a fun couple of days, weatherwise. If you like paddling, swimming, snorkelling, diving, windsurfing, fishing, jet and water-skiing and sailing then my back garden was the place to be this weekend, we had so much rain. It is also the first time I have actually considered wearing my fishing chest waders for dog walking - what a picture that would have been, fortunately for all concerned the thought of being seen dissuaded me! Anyway, at the moment, it is not raining so the girls and dobes are dropping off a spare photograph of the sun (no, not the newspaper, that big yellow thing that is meant to be in the sky round here), some broken biscuit cake (because I made one yesterday) and my fishing chest waders (because the dogs, like me, don't want to be seen out with me if I am wearing them!!!). Have fun x
Hi Mist, today's very special treat is a worm. Yes, that is right, A WORM. Purdey has just presented it to me and I am, of course, thrilled!. I think something might have happened to it, of the rolling nature, because Purdey has something on her back and the worm is a bit flattened. Anyway I am sure you will have fun with it. I am only letting Sarika and Max deliver it because I have an awful feeling that the Poomonster would bring it back! Have a great weekend x
Hi Mist, today the girls and dobes are sending over a large matchbox. Open it very carefully because in it you will find a rather large live beetle found by Purdey yesterday morning. We are sending it over in hope that you will know what to do with it because it is scaring the living daylights out of Purdey, Sarika and Mr Wimp (ie me!). I think Max is actually pretending to be asleep so that he doesn't have to get involved! PS I'm having a "seventies" moment (not age, just the decade) and have made a lemon meringue pie, so a piece of that is enclosed too (but not in the matchbox because that beetle is so SCARY. Have fun x.
Hi, i have left a couple of messages to say thanks for the advise on your public page, but when i submit them i cant see them, i just hope you get them. thank you again for the advise
Hi Mist, the girlie gundogs reminded me of my long lost youth today because they were chasing birds. Their targets, unlike mine in the good old days, were of the feathered variety (have no fear my ornithological friends, the bells on the girlies collars act as a very effective early warning system) with magpies and pigeons on the agenda. All the creeping, pointing and "I am invisible" positions adopted were very amusing to watch and brought back "David in the disco" memories - most of which were very painful and I am not just talking about the resultant arthritis. In their new role as a David Tribute Ensemble called "Remember the (a number I am not going to tell you, you'll have to guess)ties" the girls and doberdog are today dropping off a pair of bottle green velvet flares, a pink floral shirt, a tank top and some Brut aftershave. Hmmmmm on reflection those could explain a great deal, particularly the "lack of success"!!! Have fun x
Hi Mist, how are you? We have had a lot of rain here over the weekend and the tracks have turned into muddy streams. Now I was never a Boy Scout but I remember their motto "Be Prepared", so I have decided it is time to build a boat, just in case we get more floods. I was going to call it an ARK but then I thought "No er, someone has already done that". So I have decided to call it a BARK. Not BARK as in sailing ship but BARK as in WOOF. In fact, on reflection, I shall call it a WOOF.... DAVID'S WOOF.......that has got a nice ring about it, don't you think? Anyway, it is for doggies only so let me know if you would like to reserve a place on DAVID'S WOOF, reasonable rates. Yesterday I made some thai fishcakes which were yummy so the girls, doberdog and I are sending some over with sweet chilli sauce. Got to go now because there are people at the door, OOH ER it is the men in white coats!! Have fun x
