Hi Remy, today a tip for the humans. If you decide to ponce yourself up a bit with a quick squirt of Armani Code (men’s version, he added quickly!!!)....well you never know who you might meet on a “walkies”, it could be one of those SIMPLY GORGEOUS LADIES FROM DOGGYSNAPS.....anyway, to continue....make sure that the NOZZLE is not pointing at your eye. Because BLOODY HELL, ARMANI CODE STINGS!!!! (Note to self....must wear glasses when applying aftershave). TYPICALLY the girlie gundogs and dobes, who are all fine, were no support to their aged human slave in his time of need but were seen sniggering behind their paws at his pain and, in particular, his use of the English language! So it is love to you lot from them and the currently partly blind but actually now also very fragrant me. X
Hi Remy, NEWS FLASH....NEWS FLASH.....NEWS FLASH..... ANOTHER SHOCK HORROR AWE FILLED SENSATION. People of Berkshire in the United of Kingdoms have been stunned by the incredible news from the davidmh kennel. Her Princessliness Sarika ....... a member of The Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Royal Household, she of the ”butter wouldn’t melt” expression, she of the human eyes and the perfumed botty burps, the Laydee of the Month of Lurve, also known as Her Gorgeousness and, by Purdey, as Miss Goody Twoshoes............ has disgraced herself. On a walk this morning she did a Purdey, SHE ROLLED IN SOMETHING UNMENTIONABLE AND VERY SMELLY. Her human slave (now on tranquillisers) and the incorrigible one, the Poomonster, looked on in complete bewilderment. The sleeping dobes has yet to express an opinion. TV news crews from the Doggy Channel are on site and the Ambulance Service are administering to many stunned passers-by. What next?!!!! Will Sarika become the Poomonster? Will Purdey give up her title willingly? Will Max wake up? A bottle of pop and a fillet steak for you while we are waiting for answers to these fundamental questions. x
Hi Remy, well we had a great walk yesterday evening. Well, to be precise, it was great until the moment when I attached Purdey's lead. You see I hadn't noticed that she had rolled in something and I am actually not sure, on reflection, whether I noticed before or after the deer's breakfast was on my hand. And did it pong, you ask? Well, it took five washes in soapy water and treatment with tomato sauce (useless) and tomato puree (much better) to get rid of the stink....and that was just from my hand! Purdey, the gorgeous little sod, required more drastic treatment and is now, thanks to the tomato puree, a RED Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. Sarika looked on with regal disdain at the chaos and also increased her human vocabulary somewhat, doberdog was, yes that is right, sleeping. Today we thought we had better send over some dog friendly bleach so that, if you are lucky enough to find and roll in some deer poo, you can be restored to your former glory without changing colour. Have fun x
Hi Remy, I am just taking a break from the packing (we are off to Dorset for a couple of days in search of the elusive salmon). Outside it is a grey day here but inside it is mocha latte ice cream coloured, well the kitchen is. I think that I might have overfilled the ice cream maker. At least licking it straight from the walls saves on the washing up and luckily it is absolutely scrumptious. So the girlies (who are currently asleep beside me as I type and are, judging by their movements, dreaming of things they chased yesterday), me and Max, if I can drag him away from the newspaper, are dropping off some of the new ice cream, fresh from the walls. Back soon, have fun x
Hi Remy, you should have seen the mess. I got back late last night to find that my canine bosses had decided to experiment with my ice cream maker. It took several hours to get the kitchen back to something like a proper order. However those who must be worshipped have insisted that I deliver their concoctions. So from Sarika we have "champagne and rosewater" ice cream, from Purdey we have "vanilla and sweet cinnamon" ice cream and from Max we have "duvet and blanket" sorbet. The ONLY problem is that all three have been mixed in the same bowl, so it looks, tastes and smells a bit odd. I am sure that you will work it out though so enjoy and have a great weekend. PS Only joking about Max's, he actually made tomato and basil sorbet. x
Hi Remy, is it me or, at the moment, does every new month on DoggySnaps seems to bring some new sadness? So today no funnies from the strange world of Davidmh, we are simply visiting as we wanted to say hello and also to send a virtual cuddle to all our friends x
Hi Remy, well what a week with the insects, an entomologist's delight. Except the "spider".......well this is a bit embarrassing.......the spider wasn't quite what it seemed. You see I didn't......if you see what I mean....... I didn't actually have my glasses on (because when I take them off I cannot then see to find them again and I had taken them off and so I couldn't find them - TWIT) and the spider was something else not quite as scary but still quite scary........well actually not scary at all really........unless you are dust mite, in which case it would be very scary.......it was the duster bit off a feather duster which Mrs Davidmh had obviously left to frighten us. Well it worked. You cannot imagine the relief, in more ways than one, our garden is now flooded but not just because of all the rain. To celebrate we, the girlie gundogs, sleeping baldy and me, are sending you quite a lot of "whatever you fancy". And a bottle of pop for the humans who sent some very interesting advice!!!!! Have fun x
Hi Remy, our gorgeous Purdey the Poomonster is TWO years old today, a grown up lady now. Sarika and Max are therefore dropping off some birthday cake and a bottle of pop for you. Enjoy x
Hi Remy, well that was a fun couple of days, weatherwise. If you like paddling, swimming, snorkelling, diving, windsurfing, fishing, jet and water-skiing and sailing then my back garden was the place to be this weekend, we had so much rain. It is also the first time I have actually considered wearing my fishing chest waders for dog walking - what a picture that would have been, fortunately for all concerned the thought of being seen dissuaded me! Anyway, at the moment, it is not raining so the girls and dobes are dropping off a spare photograph of the sun (no, not the newspaper, that big yellow thing that is meant to be in the sky round here), some broken biscuit cake (because I made one yesterday) and my fishing chest waders (because the dogs, like me, don't want to be seen out with me if I am wearing them!!!). Have fun x
Hi Guys, thanks for coming to visit. so good to see you. so pleased mum is better now. hope you are having a great long weekend. we do not get them here. been another beautiful day. too nice to be inside. so outdoor activities today. treats for you my friend. take care. love Tess & Buster ♥♥
Hi Remy, today the girls and dobes are sending over a large matchbox. Open it very carefully because in it you will find a rather large live beetle found by Purdey yesterday morning. We are sending it over in hope that you will know what to do with it because it is scaring the living daylights out of Purdey, Sarika and Mr Wimp (ie me!). I think Max is actually pretending to be asleep so that he doesn't have to get involved! PS I'm having a "seventies" moment (not age, just the decade) and have made a lemon meringue pie, so a piece of that is enclosed too (but not in the matchbox because that beetle is so SCARY. Have fun x.
Hi Remy, what a fabulous weekend here. Glorious sunshine and warm too, tracks dry and doggies mud free. Saturday's party went well, the canine threesome behaved beautifully (it is difficult to resist the girlies when they lay their heads on your lap and look adoringly at you - interesting that it always seemed to happen when sausages were being scoffed!), and yesterday we all went to a BBQ, more yummy food. Today the girls, who have just had a seriously good playtime at Bramshill (new pics), and dobes are dropping off weekend leftovers - scallops wrapped in bacon, chicken and bacon burgers and vodka and orange trifle. Hang on a minute, I will just have another spoonful of that trifle - Hmmm, that's better. Have fun x
Hi Remy, the work on the doggies only ark has stopped!!! Not because of workers industrial action (when I say workers I use the term very loosely as I, of course, refer to Sarika, Purdey, Maxwell and me and Maxwell is asleep and the other three of us are pretty useless at ark building!), not because of poor pay or long hours or union policy. Nope, work has stopped on HDS (His David's Ship) WOOF because the sun has come out. It is dry and warm and long may it remain so. Following various incidents featuring my fingers and thumbs, the hammer and me, I am sure that I heard a sigh of relief from the aforementioned digits (those that remain) when we decided to down tools. As a result, today the girlies and dobes are delivering some Soltan factor 25 sun lotion, a knotted handkerchief (also known as my sunhat) and my hammer (because it will be safer if you look after it). Have fun x
Hi Remy, how are you? Getting older has simply nothing to recommend it, I realised that this morning when I was looking for my glasses. I knew that, being as blind as the proverbial bat, I had absolutely no hope of finding them unless I was actually wearing them, if you SEE what I mean. And I will not mention the senile moments which seem to come now with increasing frequency - did I shut the door? which door? why did I go upstairs? what was that I said I wouldn't forget? And the worrying thing is that I still have the male menopause to come!!!! Anyway, at least the doggies are all flourishing, the girlie gundogs spark each other off and seem to be in a permanent state of puppydom and it is wonderful and long may it last. And although Dobes is obviously beginning to feel his age and is sleeping most of the time, he remains a happy little chap. And none of them have to wear spectacles, the lucky sods. Today the threesome are delivering a bird's feather found by Purdey on our walk, a hair tie (Sarika's favourite toy, she loves it put on her nose) and a duvet (slightly used) from Max...oh yes, and an empty spectacle case. Have fun x
Hi Remy, how are you? David's gone slighly mad, Part 2....I've been busy with the naval architects on the design of my doggies only ark/bark/WOOF called HDS (His David's Ship) WOOF. Following numerous suggestions it will have a pole for dancing purposes (her name is Olga), a bandstand and a Michelin starred restaurant. It will use wind power - yes, methane produced by its passengers as fuel. Hence the restaurant, although there are a couple of doggies not too far from me right now who seemingly do not need the help of Gordon Ramsay to provide wind! We are also building a small boat which the WOOF will tow - this should be called a skiff but, in the circumstances (can you imagine the pong from the hundreds of doggies on the WOOF) we are going to call it a WHIFF. This will be for non-doggy pets such as c*ts. And we are getting a Roman slave galley built for guess who? That's right, the humans - no change there then. This will tow both the WOOF and the WHIFF on those unlikely days when the WOOF is not self fuelling. Today the girls and doberdog, as well as delivering some cooked liver treats, are sending over a raincoat and some wellington boots because they think that those might be more use to you than the WOOF when the floods come. Oh, yee of little faith. And now I am going to lie down!!!! Have fun x
