Just to thank everyone who visited my baby while I was away, who remembered her for me. Harry is with her now, with our black cat Ginny, the love of his life, and with his best friend Lucien. Toby is bright, but growing frailer by the day. The time is approaching now. I also have health problems that are in the process of being sorted, so life is a little upside down. But we carry on. Thank you again for remembering my babies when I can’t get to them myself. Much love to all of you.

Hello to all my sympathetic friends on DS.,
I thought I'd try to write and tell you all how I feel with all these kind thoughts, poems, prayers and messages arriving.
When I realise it is only a week ago today Floss did the Houdini trick and went off with Tallulah on the hunting trip in the disused quarry behind our house, it seems incredible she is now dead.
We are no wiser as to what the infection was, but it must have been very severe as she was given steroids and the highest dose of antibiotics possible. She went downhill so fast we could see her dying before our eyes: we were incapable to do anything more other than keep her warm and keep her company.
It was not a hard decicision to put her down, she would have been dead, I'm sure, within 24 hours.
Mark, my vet. came to the house and told me we could put her on a drip but he thought it would only prolong the inevitable, I thought she had been quite distressed and I said 'Enough is enough'.
I held her paw and she just drifted off, it was a matter of seconds.
She is buried [digger ruined ANOTHER bit of the front lawn!] in the field at the side of the house alongside Bernard the Staghound? but that's another long story for another day.
I read on DS statistics that someone has 43 dogs in their kennel, I started counting and realised that our running total including the dear departed is.......... 28!
One day I will start scanning photographs and post all our other friends, until then I'll stop at 9.
One other thought though......... our maximum no of dogs is 10.. that's the theory anyway....... for all you mathematicians that means we have 2 vacancies !!!!!
I don't go looking for dogs they just turn up at our gate, are found wandering the streets, or the Dog Warden 'phones me.........................
Again, thankyou for your concern it is much appreciated,
Kind regards to you all,
Lynda and the family

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL MY DOGGY-SNAPPING FRIENDS!
True to any holiday time I have been into the vet.'s three times in about 18 hours!
Floss has a cyst on her third eyelid, but it is a lot better today - we were prepared for surgery. So, more drops and anti-biotics.
During these gales the door blew open [we now have it locked] and Horatio, Tallulah and Alfred escaped............. 4 hours later Tallulah arrived home muddy and triumphant, hose pipe, followed by loose box. Another half hour Alfred limped home - more washing; I think he has a slight strain of his second toe.........
At last Horatio arrived an hour later, whilst hosing off black mud from the river bank and our field, I saw that he had a hole in his back and a tear on his shoulder, 8pm. I was lucky, there was still a vet in the surgery - 12 staples later............... Doing well today wearing his lampshade/halo!!!
Hope you all spend a happy, relaxed and doggy Easter,
Love from Lynda, Molly, Floss, Horatio, Bert, Alfred, Tallulah, Tig, Caíomhe and Ruairi xxxxxxxxx

I'm good at picking dogs off the street too!
Although I didn't manage to catch a beautiful young Lurcher outside Mullingar, I often wonder what happened to it running along a busy road.
Hope your extras found good homes.
Glad you took Lady to Donegal- great place, our dogs love the beaches there. RABBITS! much yelling and retrieving of dogs!!!

Hi Gang - a quick Sunday visit before Dad comes back from golf and takes over the computer as in the last few days - when he does, Mummy has asked that he sorts out why it is sooooo slow (before he watches more rugby please, pretty please, pretty pretty please ). Been helping Mummy with that silly thing she does - picking up leaves, putting them in a bag and them emptying the bag in another part of the garden. Such very strange behaviour from a biped - I help by rolling in the leaves and pushing the bag with my nose. Oh and I was very sick in the bedroom last night, but Mummy scooped it up before I could ... again. Such a waste!! Speak longer next week. Bonios for you all today. Hamish
