Hi Poppy , well it's another wet and miserable day in Manchester. Granny is poorly with another bad migraine, mummy sent her back to bed and is worried about her, she'll go and check on here later, shes leaving her to sleep for abit now. We enjoyed a nice and quiet weekend, the sun was out yesterday but it was still very chilly. Jinx ws abit better on her walkies yesterday, but still quite nervous, poor thing, we had cooked chicken for tea last night, we all waited and watched patiently as mummy demolished the carcus for us yummy, and none of us lifted our heads out of the bowl until it was all gone yummy, we saved some for our doggysnaps friends, so enjoy :) love Dinky, Jinx and Frankie xxxxxx ps. please would you vote for Jinx as LOTM :) xxx

Hi Poppy, so the walk went really well. The wind was blowing a gale and seemed to have dried up most of the tracks, despite the recent torrential rain. There were some nasty filthy puddles where the muddy water was black but otherwise all was great. My gorgeous Purdey (I absolutely adore her really) was a darling, a paragon of virtue, a simply well behaved girlie, no noxious things were subjected to her backstroke, no none at all, it was a MIRACLE really. And as for the Princessliness, well Sarika was as always “mad as a box of frogs”, full of beans and fun. She always sticks close to me on our walks unless there is a leaf, moth, butterfly, JUMBO JET etc to chase. Wonderful. So I bent down to give them both a kiss (yes, I know I am a soppy old sod) and was immediately engulfed in girlie gundogs. Their paws were round my neck, they were in my arms, everywhere, and I got subjected to the treatment, licks and kisses. I love those moments, they are so very precious.......I am not sure when I remembered that they both had spent a bit of very recent time in one of those “nasty filthy puddles” previously mentioned. Was it before or after I noticed the condition of my clothes? Suffice to say that Max is currently watching the washing machine do its thing. AND THAT BEGS THE QUESTION..is watching it hypnotising him, it is on so often, so he is not really asleep he is actually in a trance? Hmmmmmm. I wonder how you tell. AND FINALLY...A man went to into an hardware store and picked up a can of fly spray. "Is this good for wasps?" he asked the assistant. "No, it kills them" was the reply.

Hi Poppy, building HDS WOOF (the doggies only BARK) is hard work. So far the girlie gundogs and I have collected seventeen twigs, four leaves, some cardboard with brown sticky tape attached, a piece of string, a plastic bag and a dead pigeon. I am struggling to work out what to do with the pigeon. We also very nearly collected a live deer but that’s another story (naughty Purdey!). At least the girlies make up with their enthusiasm for their complete lack of appreciation of what we actually need for boat building. The same cannot be said for dobes who frankly I blame for not briefing them properly. He says he has been too busy sleeping, watching repeats of DEAL OR NO DEAL or doing the TIMES crossword. In the circumstances I think that we’d all better hope for a DROUGHT this winter! Anyway, guess what you are getting today....that’s right...the TIMES crossword (three clues to do)....and OK then.....you get the pigeon too. Have fun x

Hi Poppy, I thought I should let you know that Sarika, Purdey and I (dobes is directing operations from his bedroom) are now collecting wood. We have seven twigs so far, which isn’t as many as I expected but it is not my fault that the girlie gundogs got distracted by some slugs. WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT? Well, we have had a great deal of rain here and as, apparently, we have a wet winter coming it seems a good time to get going on the HDS (His David’s Ship) WOOF...... AND TO BRING NEW DOGGIES UP TO SPEED........this is the doggies only BARK we are building so all doggies can cope with any flooding (I was going to call it an ARK but then thought “No er, someone has already done that”). Anyway, a virtual ticket for our maiden voyage is enclosed; however, following the twig collecting, the date of the voyage is as yet uncertain x

Hi Poppy, why, after we have a bit of rain, is the mud on our previously dry field paths two inches deep? On the subject of MUD, I have decided I would like to reincarnate Flanders and Swann who composed and sang the song “Mud Mud, Glorious Mud”. If they and their friend THE HIPPOPOTAMUS think that MUD is so great then they can bloody well turn up on my doorstep with buckets of soapy warm water and sponges and give me a hand cleaning two deliriously happy and very dirty girlie gundogs. It would serve them, F and S and the Hippo, right (plus I would like to see a HIPPO trying to hold a sponge let alone give a wash to her princessliness very skitty knickers Sarika!!!!). Today I am sending over a small lamb and a peppermint flavoured striped hard boiled sweet.........................they are a clue to the appropriate words for my GRUMPY OLD MAN mood.......BAH HUMBUG!!!! Dobes slept through the chaos so, like him, I am off to have a lie down now! x

Hi Poppy, what a lovely weekend, perhaps THAT was our long awaited summer? We walked up the Thames a couple of times and much fun was had by all....well, except perhaps for the duck which Purdey chased.....or the tennis ball which Sarika managed to sink.... it is a tough life being a tennis ball round here! The weekend’s big news was that Sarika and Purdey found a new friend who we are calling Tommy (pic in kennel if you can get there!). Max hasn’t met Tommy (who might even be a prince, who knows) because dobes opted for sleep rather than exercise. Because of Tommy the girlies are sending over a HALL.....Purdey wanted to send mouthwash too but that is her problem, serves her right for picking up Tommy with her mouth......all will become obvious, hopefully. Have fun x

Hi Poppy, how are you? This is our first DS visit for a while because I’ve simply got fed up with my continuing difficulty in getting into my kennel. Everything is fine here, Her Princessliness remains just that and dobes is asleep. Today’s treat is practical and necessary, a bottle of eau de dogogne.....VERY necessary in our case as our sensational news is that Purdey is no longer THE POOMONSTER, she is now THE STINKMONSTER. She has stopped rolling in recycled animal dinners (no doubt aware that a BATH will result) and has now taken up rolling in places where there are just strong smells (and, yes, I know what that could be!). You can imagine the scenario.......she comes running out of the fields and she is not covered in poo.......PHEW .......which rapidly changes to COR, WHAT IS THAT EFFING STINK as she gets closer. More baths await, methinks. I daren’t change her name on here however as, if I do, it will probably take me even longer to get into my kennel! Have a good day x

Hi Poppy, well we had a great walk yesterday evening. Well, to be precise, it was great until the moment when I attached Purdey's lead. You see I hadn't noticed that she had rolled in something and I am actually not sure, on reflection, whether I noticed before or after the deer's breakfast was on my hand. And did it pong, you ask? Well, it took five washes in soapy water and treatment with tomato sauce (useless) and tomato puree (much better) to get rid of the stink....and that was just from my hand! Purdey, the gorgeous little sod, required more drastic treatment and is now, thanks to the tomato puree, a RED Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. Sarika looked on with regal disdain at the chaos and also increased her human vocabulary somewhat, doberdog was, yes that is right, sleeping. Today we thought we had better send over some dog friendly bleach so that, if you are lucky enough to find and roll in some deer poo, you can be restored to your former glory without changing colour. Have fun x

Hiya Poppy! Have you heard? I passed my Kennel Club Bronze award last night, Mum is sooooooo proud she nearly cried. Very exhausting though, all this academia. I'm popping round to my friends today to share out the James Wellbeloved goodies our trainer gave us for doing so well. Tuck in,lots of love from Polly xxx

Hiya Poppy, Flipping ‘eck! How long is it since I visited? Seems ages, well you can blame Mum she’s been busy so now I have to risk repetitive strain injury with a massive catch up for my friends! Got in big trouble the other day for running round with a baby bird in my mouth – should have seen Mum – high pitched voice, running round with arms flapping – I think she was trying to look like a bird herself but then I realised she was serious so I dropped the bird and she made a proper fuss of it, calling me allsorts of things a puppy shouldn’t hear. Anyway it was still alive and spoke to the next door neighbour who thought it had fallen from a nest on their side so put it back – hope its OK, didn’t mean to hurt it. We had some big excitement the other day (of the nice kind) when the new sofa arrived and I thought ‘great, that looks nice and comfy’ but turns out I’m not supposed to go on it – honestly, what did she buy such a big one for if its only for her??? OK so I wasn’t supposed to go on the old one either but when my Auntie visited I could usually give her one of my looks and she’d let me up but Auntie has been warned that when she comes to stay I’m not to go on the sofa! Had a bit of a sulk but am getting over it now. Training is ace (sorry I’m such a girly swot!), last week we had a practice for our assessment and I did soooooo well, we have one more practice at skool today and then the assessment is on Friday 4th July! I’ll let you know how it goes. Then we have the Helsby Fun Day on July 12th where our trainer is running a fun dog show so we’re going to that. The last show was great, didn't win anything but was really good with most of the dogs for most of the day. Even met up with Toby (Jo & Toby - see my main photo) so am becoming more sociable now. I went to the Open Day too and had a go on the agility course which was great (my trainer is starting agility classes soon so I can't wait!), saw my carers and was 'fairly' well behaved although I have to say, they did see a bit of the Polly they remembered as well! Leaving you some roast chicken with lemon cheesecake for afters, gotta go! Duty calls! The paper lad is about to deliver so if I get in quick there could be some shredded newspaper to share with you all later as well! Lots of love from Polly xxx

Hi Poppy, how are you and the humans? Problems with "fetch" meant we couldn't visit yesterday so here we are now. I had hoped that I had had my last dog poo moment (if you know what I mean). WRONG. I was walking Sarika yesterday. Her princessliness went off to do "what is natural". I got a nappy sack out of my pocket (every item of clothing I have with a pocket has nappy sacks in that pocket) and put my hand in the nappy sack so I could then pick up the poo, reverse the sack, tie up the handles and job done (in more ways than one!). I am not sure when I discovered that I had put my thumb through the hole in the sack tie handle. Was it when I sensed the strange warm feeling on my thumb or was it when I saw what had happened? And does it really matter? Ugh..Ugh..and more Ughs. After lots of wiping of my thumb on the grass I walked home holding my right hand as far away from me as possible. What hand? No, its not with me! Never seen it before! Anyway I managed to get in the house without using the thumb and several scrubbings later I think that it was finally clean. So today, not surprisingly, the girls and dobes are delivering some nappy sacks without tie handles for your humans. And me, well I am off to have another wash. Have fun x

Hi there Poppy, lovely to meet you, I was rescued from the RSPCA in Merseyside too, when I was a year old, I have a lovely home like you too, my Mum and Dad say they love me to bits, I am spoilt rotten too he he... I have 3 feline buddies, I chased them terribly at first and this really upset my Mum and Dad, I am a good girl now and we all live in harmony. I do hope you can come and visit my kennel sometime, and we can share some treats, I'm off to have my tea now, starving after my long walk in the park, hope to hear from you soon, lots of love from Wendy xxxxxxxxxxxx I'm leaving you a nice treat.

Hi Poppy, we found a huge beetle a few days ago. Today its father has turned up! We are currently hiding behind the sofa - two brave gundogs, dobes and me - hoping it doesn't spot us. Please send help. To encourage/bribe you we are enclosing some more of my yummy homemade fudge. PS as some say that Rolling Stones are better than Beatles, could you send a Rolling Stone because it might work with beetles too. HELP.
