In loving memory
George on the beach

This photo was taken a week after George was diagnosed with chronic lung disease and an enlarged heart - the sea air is a great help to him, and he is still as fit as ever.

They will not go quietly, the pets who've shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives. Old habits still can make us think we hear them at the door Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor. Our feet still go around the place the food dish use to be, And, sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly. And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill, That one place in our hearts belongs to them.... and always will.

MY FRIEND My life was happy, please don't feel sad When you cried I always felt bad. I am happy here even though you're there cause now I am with you everywhere. I come and run in your dreams at night just to let you know I am alright. Remember me with a smiling face and get another to take my place. To heal your heart and make you smile and take my place for a little while. Love him well and watch him grow and when someday it's time to go. He'll be here with me so we can play and we'll see you again another day

I totally understand what you mean when you say he was you life. I felt exactly the same. It can be frustrating when people try to make the circumstances of his passing alledgedly easier by offering what they think are comforting words about how it could have been much worse. I dont think the lost of your soul mate could be any worse than it was. The only thing that I hope you found helped slightly is that his diagnosis gave you an inkling of the future days, but that you were still able to enjoy quality time with him because he wasnt suffering any pain. I mean look at the photo, he looked so happy! They fight so hard to get better to stay with the owner they love, but sadly that fight causes tiredness, about which they can do nothing. You say his favourite place was with his mum, well that is where he is now, living on within your heart. Keep talking, it will help you to smile at your memories. x

George looked a beautiful little boy. So sorry for your loss, I hope in time your broken heart will feel better. He'll be running free, happy and healthy over Rainbow Bridge now and one day you will be together again. Sending a tribute xxx

I know how you feel.. when you don't get to say goodbye. It is something I always wanted for my Holly - to find her asleep in her basket but instead I found her killed by dogs in my backyard. She was 17 years old dachshund. I'm having a hard time coping but time will heal so they tell me. Be thankful that you had him for a long as you did and he didn't suffer and please know that we all know how hard it is to loose a little loved one. God bless Georgie boy.... xxxx

George's Mum, once again I am so very sorry. What a brave little chap - he waited for you to come back didn't he? And at the end he spared you having to make any decisions (just as Mutley did for me). I am so, very sorry. I know that you will find such a lot of comfort if you go into the forums and then in memoriam - if will be a comfort for you to talk to others. Hope to speak to you again very soon. xxxxx
