Hi Barney, how are you? This is our first DS visit for a while because I’ve simply got fed up with my continuing difficulty in getting into my kennel. Everything is fine here, Her Princessliness remains just that and dobes is asleep. Today’s treat is practical and necessary, a bottle of eau de dogogne.....VERY necessary in our case as our sensational news is that Purdey is no longer THE POOMONSTER, she is now THE STINKMONSTER. She has stopped rolling in recycled animal dinners (no doubt aware that a BATH will result) and has now taken up rolling in places where there are just strong smells (and, yes, I know what that could be!). You can imagine the scenario.......she comes running out of the fields and she is not covered in poo.......PHEW .......which rapidly changes to COR, WHAT IS THAT EFFING STINK as she gets closer. More baths await, methinks. I daren’t change her name on here however as, if I do, it will probably take me even longer to get into my kennel! Have a good day x
Sorry I havent visited for a while , Ive missed everyone but mum has been very busy , Leaving you some designer wellies as it is wet & miserable , Well it is Bank holiday weekend what do we expect ?? Love Jeddy X
Hi Barney, how are you? Something extraordinary happened here earlier........THE SUN WAS SHINING. Based on the year so far, and the weather forecast, this could have been the summer so it was walkies time along the river with the girlies and, yes, dobes too, although he needed to be carried after 50 yards! Today’s treats, apart from our good wishes and some pork sausages, are a sunshade and, just in case the forecast is correct, an umbrella. Back soon but my ability to sort out a new computer arriving today will determine when! Have fun x PS It is raining again.
Hi Barney, how are you? I have just heard a joke....What do you call a man with a spade in his head?.................Doug! I thought that was funny, I think I am cracking up because of the problems accessing my kennel. I now get in by putting Sarika's name in fetch, clicking on a picture and following the links to her main one. Hey Ho. Anyway, allowing for my cracking up and the poor weather (it is summer after all), we are all well here. The girlies and sleeping beauty are such a joy and great fun and we feel blessed that they are part of our lives. I do have another problem though, I've even created a thread in the Lampost.....it is that age old male swimwear question...SWIMMING SHORTS or SPEEDOS? So, to canvas opinions, the girlies and dobes are today not only delivering a piece of fillet steak but also a pair of shorts and a pair of speedos. What do you think? Have fun x PS Have just heard another joke.....There are three types of people...those who can count, those who can't!..................C>>R>>A>>C>>K>>I>>N>>G>>>>>>>>U>>P!!
Hi Barney, how are you? My birthday celebrations continue, how lucky I was to be three weeks premature, my liver and I could be very tired by what should have been my real birthday in mid August. It is a lot of fun though!!!! I took the girlie gundogs to the Gamefair at Blenheim yesterday. They were much admired and Purdey even met some of her Slovak relatives. The funniest thing was watching her make friends with a water buffalo, I have never seen a dog stretch its neck so long while in "ready to flee because I am not actually sure what it is " position. She ended up licking the buffalo's ear. Sarika was above it all...buffalo, horses, eagles, ferrets etc etc..they are not humans (her favourites) so hardly worth a princess's interest. Max, as befits one of his age, stayed at home and slept. Today, apart from our best wishes of course, we are delivering a water buffalo's dropping, mainly because we don't know what else to do with it...it is rather large and, as yet, unrolled-in, the Poomonster still being "not too sure". Have fun x.
Hi Barney, humans have decided to call the new ginger fluff ball 'Tigger', he is curious, greedy, mischievous, playful, he bounces, leaps, jumps, hisses but he is OK. When he is microchipped, I know, he will be here to stay. Steak treat today. Love, Dylan xx xx
Hi Barney, well we had a great walk yesterday evening. Well, to be precise, it was great until the moment when I attached Purdey's lead. You see I hadn't noticed that she had rolled in something and I am actually not sure, on reflection, whether I noticed before or after the deer's breakfast was on my hand. And did it pong, you ask? Well, it took five washes in soapy water and treatment with tomato sauce (useless) and tomato puree (much better) to get rid of the stink....and that was just from my hand! Purdey, the gorgeous little sod, required more drastic treatment and is now, thanks to the tomato puree, a RED Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. Sarika looked on in regal disdain at the chaos and also increased her human vocabulary somewhat, doberdog was, yes that is right, sleeping. Today we thought we had better send over some dog friendly bleach so that, if you are lucky enough to find and roll in some deer poo, you can be restored to your former glory without changing colour. Have fun x
Hi Barney, hope you are well. We are back from our holiday in Lincolnshire and we all had a very good time, we will add some photos soon, the dogs especially enjoyed Skegness beach all that sand as it's just pebbles were we are and it was dog friendly. Now for the news on Jacks x-ray, the vet said he has a torn ligament or something in his knee and scar tissue so it wont get any better (not sure what it all means can anyone explain) and he also has artheritis in his hips so he is now on metacam for the rest of his life as it keeps the inflamation down and so relives the pain. Bubble and squeak is your treat for today xxx
Hi Barney, a quick visit today because we are off to Dorset again on our search for the salmon (we found a 10 pounder last week). We've hardly been able to get on here this week because of the technical problems, took five attempts to get into my kennel today and then there are the problems with the "fetch" function. Oh dear. Anway, the ladies and dobes are all fit and well and having fun. Today we are delivering some steak for all the doggies and some very necessary "chill pills" for the humans just in case they are having as much trouble with the site as we are. Back soon x
Hi Barney, how are you and the humans? I haven't had a dog poo moment (if you know what I mean) for a while, in fact I had hoped I had had my last such moment. WRONG. I was walking Sarika earlier. Her princessliness went off to do "what is natural". I got a nappy sack out of my pocket (every item of clothing I have with a pocket has nappy sacks in that pocket) and put my hand in the nappy sack so I could then pick up the poo, reverse the sack, tie up the handles and job done (in more ways than one!). I am not sure when I discovered that I had put my thumb through the hole in the sack tie handle. Was it when I sensed the strange feeling on my thumb or was it when I saw what had happened? And does it really matter? Ugh..Ugh..and more Ughs. After lots of wiping of my thumb on the grass I walked home holding my right hand as far away from me as possible. What hand? No, its not with me! Never seen it before! Anyway I managed to get in the house without using the thumb and several scrubbings later I think that it is finally clean. So today, not surprisingly, the girls and dobes are delivering some nappy sacks without tie handles for your humans. I am off to have another wash. Have fun x
hi there how are you? how was your day? we didn't do much today we just mucked about in the house then we went outside for a bit and had a carry on and got heated by the fire but then mum and her parents told us to go away as we were attracting the midges so maggie just let bob lick her dry from the rain the weather was rubbish all week so fingers cross this week will be better leaving you a doughnut enjoy xx
Hello Barney, I have been to my hydrotheraphy today for my arthritics, the lady who looks after me, ordered some S.T.P (Stop The Pain), it comes from America & is specially formulated for horses but they have developed a supplement for dogs, so we hope to give it a try & it works. Yesterday, my Mum & Dad started to making our 'scarecrows' for the village festival, this year the theme is movie magic. Most of the entrants do figures, we always enter 'animal scarecrows' & this year will be no different, if our ideas work, we will post them on my kennel in a month's time, We are assembling 5 animal characters & one human figure. The Sunday roast is today's treat. Love, Dylan & the cats: Kizzy, Patches, Lucy, Whisky, Zebedee & Skimble xx xx
Hi Barney, I am just taking a break from the packing (we are off to Dorset for a couple of days in search of the elusive salmon). Outside it is a grey day here but inside it is mocha latte ice cream coloured, well the kitchen is. I think that I might have overfilled the ice cream maker. At least licking it straight from the walls saves on the washing up and luckily it is absolutely scrumptious. So the girlies (who are currently asleep beside me as I type and are, judging by their movements, dreaming of things they chased yesterday), me and Max, if I can drag him away from the newspaper, are dropping off some of the new ice cream, fresh from the walls. Back soon, have fun x
hay there how are you? did you have a good weekend? well we haven't done anything at all that weekend we were mostly outside mum went to a party on Saturday night and was to tired to do anything on Sunday but hopeful the week will pick up well we got a birthday boy on Wednesday bob going to be 6yrs old how the weather were you stay? leaving you treats xx
Hi Barney, you should have seen the mess. I got back late last night to find that my canine bosses had decided to experiment with my ice cream maker. It took several hours to get the kitchen back to something like a proper order. However those who must be worshipped have insisted that I deliver their concoctions. So from Sarika we have "champagne and rosewater" ice cream, from Purdey we have "vanilla and sweet cinnamon" ice cream and from Max we have "duvet and blanket" sorbet. The ONLY problem is that all three have been mixed in the same bowl, so it looks, tastes and smells a bit odd. I am sure that you will work it out though so enjoy and have a great weekend. PS Only joking about Max's, it is actually tomato and basil sorbet. x
hi how are we today? we ok have you being doing anything fun today? it been another lovely sunny day here how your weather been? Maggie's friend sofie came over for a bit they had a carry on in the garden when they left bob and mum went into asda to get a fathers day card and a engagement card then they went round to see her ant she has 2 border terriers then mum and bob came home and mum took maggie a walk to see her friend up the road on the way back to the house we meet a 12 wk old black lab puppy it was so cutie when we got home we got the food ready for saturday then we sat and watched tv the rest of the night we went up to bed and came on here before going to sleep leaving you one of our cakes xx
Hi Barney hope you are well. Jack has to go and have an xray on his leg on wednesday 18th as it's still bothering him, it can be ok for a month or so and then he starts suffering again, it all started when he was playing ball and twisted it, poor old Jack. Then on the 20th we are going on holiday to Lincolnshire for a week with the dogs as well so don't know when i will be able to visit again, mums mum is coming to cat and house sit whilst we are all away, I will update you on all the news soon after we return.
