Hello and a sausage to all my doggy friends! Well, this weekend, Dad's away in York with Richard III Society stuff (and a trip to the National Railway Museum!) so it's just Mum and little me! Here's the scene...not a good day Friday as Mum closed the door from the kitchen to the rest of my terrior-tory, still I caught up on my sleep even if I couldn't "beat the bounds" like I normally do - you know - "dark, dark woods" behind the sofa, livingroom bay window, diningroom table, upstairs, pause on landing for the landing window, up on the bed for a snooze, into the spare bedroom for the back window, and finally into the shower then a quick look at the little room where all the books are then back round again. However, Mum came home from work early and we went for a BIKE RUN! Yea! We went about three miles with a few pauses for rest. I think Mum understands now then when we stop and I jump up and paw her leg it means I'm happy! Anyhoo, it went down after that because I've told Mum over and over that this thing she does about taking away all the good smells and rpelacing them with a sort of nasty pine forest smell is BAD, but she did it anyway. Any after our walk this morning she did it AGAIN all over the house! Our walk this morning was GREAT! I let "she who must be obeyed cause she gives me treats" have a lie in so we met lots of local friends! There was Bailey the English Spaniel who was sitting with her Dad Trevor reading the paper at the cricket pavillion and there were my best mates Tilk and Pip who are working English Spaniels (they were absolutely filthy from lying in the ditch!) with their Dad Peter and we had great games of "pinch the stick" together. But today is a special day in our village, it's what Mum calls "Walking Day" (and I thought all days were walking days!) That means all the churches and cubs and brownies and guides and scouts and THREE brass bands and one silver band (the best!) parade through the village! It's an old Lancashire tradition I think (pay attention Fluffy and Joey and Mandy and all my "other country" pals!) sort of like beating the bounds. I contributed by barking from the diningroom window but for some reason Mum gets all misty-eyed when she sees the cubs, she says it's because my human brother once carried the cubs' banner. Anyway, Mum's back with the pine forest thing, wish I could stop her, but such is life, eh doggy friends? Enjoy your sausage, have a good weekend, love and licks from Leigh.

Hello Mandy! This is to welcome you to Lancashire "The Red Rose County where everyone natters" err I mean "matters" (See the council signs!) My mum is off the Zakynthos for a week tomorrow 06/05/07 taking bags of treats for less fortunate dogs and hoping to find a doggy refuge to give them to. In the meantime, I've slipped one out for you darling - we'll soon meet I hope and you can teach me to woof in Greek and I'll teach you to yip in dialect! Lots of love and best wishes until you're back on line. Leigh & Lis xx

Hi both, Leigh was so good this morning, walked to heel off lead all the way from across our Lane to the park, sitting on command before we crossed the little Lane. She has had so much breakfast and so many treats she asked me to distribute a few to her friends, so here's a lamb and mint one for Mandy! See you soon. Lis

Hi Su, number noted, will leave you a while to settle then give you a bell after my hol ok? You're not so far from us, we're looking forward to meeting you. I work in Bamber Bridge now, not working away from home at the mo' so ring me if there's anything I can do to help you settle in (have 4wd, happy to help when you do the furniture thing when you get to your own home if that's the ultimate plan). Cheers now. Lisa & Leigh
