Shadows short story part 3: Shadow had long rest and was served a banquet of food, Shadow and Lily were on their way the other fairys cheered then they quickly dispersed and hid. Shadow turned to Lily and asked "Why do they hide?" Lily replied "They are afraid that the armies of ogres and gremlins will return" Shadow gulped "A-a-a-army how are we going to beat an army and what do you mean if they return? - there are only two of us" Lily replied "Let me explain - the army bust into my village as you know and kidnapped our king and queen - our magical powers were useless against them, they were protected by a more powerful magic than ours - you will gain your skills as we go along" Shadow replied excitley "Does that mean i get magical powers" Lily nodded. Shadow continued "But how will i know when and how to use them" Lily smiled "You will know when" Shadow said "Where are we going? and there is still two of us against an army" Lily replied "We are going along the same route that we think the ogres and gremlins took our king and queen and in a time a need i can i can summon one or two of your friends here to help us, but they have to return home after helping us" Lily and Shadow were travelling for ages then they saw a big gate in the distance which had gremlins patrolling and guarding it, Shadow and Lily had to find somewhere to hide and quick, there was a big bush so Shadow squeezed under it, oh no thought Shadow it is a prickley bush, i hope i don't get any thorns anywhere. Shadow turned to Lily and said "You said you can summon one of my friends - could you do that now?" Lily replied "Of course i can - which friend would you like?" Shadow put a paw up to head to think, "Ah yes i know my friend Jenny she has special training and her code name is Mata Hari" Lily flew up high and chanted some magical words, then a light appeared on the floor and Shadow heard "Coooeee Shadow - what am i doing here i was enjoying a nice big juicy beef steak - and wait i'm talking -huh! whats going on?" Shadow replied "Shh! Jenny come over here and mind the thorns, So Jenny crawled under the bush - she still had the steak in her paw, Shadow and Lily quickly explained to Jenny what was going on, and that they needed to get through the gate past the gremlins to get more information about the kidnapping of the king and queen, at first Jenny though she was dreaming, then she said "Don't worry - leave it to me - they don't call me Mata Hari for nothing", she picked up a stick from the ground and walked closer to the gate and stood on her back legs and called "Youhoooooooo boys" the gremlins looked and satred and they ran towards Jenny, when they were close Jenny pulled the stick from behind her back, the gremlins went flying up in the air, and some fled in fright, Jenny caught one gremlin and pinned him to the ground, and held her juicy beef steak (which had been her dinner) over the gremlins face, the juices were dripping on his face, Jenny demanded "Where are the king and queen and who is your leader" as she dangled the steak closer to th egremlins face. the gremlin spluttered "T-t-t-they are in the castle faraway" as pointed towards the gates. he continued "O-o-o-our leader is the overlord" Jenny then flung the gremlin into the air and said "My job is done here - Mata Hari away" Lily flew up into the air chanted some more magic words and Jenny disppeared back home. Well as Jenny finshed off the gremlins Shadow and Lily were free to pass through the gate............................to be continued, todays treat is Jennys steak and some fairy dust and a big thankyou for reading this

Hi Sniffy Well I've finally pinned down 'the human' and demanded she visited all my friends on my behalf! Things have been quiet here with only one or two BIG BANGS (nasty fireworks). So, I've HAD to bark constantly at them (well you do don't you?). Mum called me a little ****** today because I destroyed yet another new toy she bought me - hee hee. Leaving the remains of my raggy dog for you to finish off. Love Kim.xx

Hi, Mum found a lump in Karla’s shoulder last night & after a trip to the dreaded v**s it has been decided to operate on Monday to remove it. We all have our paws and fingers crossed here that it is benign. Leaving you treats & a hug. Waggy tails. Belle & Karla ♥xxx♥

Hi Liffey, what there is to tell, the humans have had a few 'hiccups' recently that they had to sort out. I am keeping the cats under control, although at times, I don't always get it right, bark at the wrong time and allegedly make matters worse. The other day, we were off for our walk, Zebedee was in the front garden, he has a tendency to follow us, my Mum went to get him, he rolled onto his back, she was about to pick him up, I barked, he run, I chased, wrong decision and my walk got even later because everytime, we tempted to leave the house, he was there lurking in the shadows, following us. Tigger, on the other hand has another trick, those of you with cats or have lived with cats, probably have experienced cats covering up they food dish after eating, Tigger, the greedy one, likes to check what everyone, including me is eating, he had spied a dish of food behind where I was lying, having a 5 minute rest, so he decided my fluffy tail was a good thing to hide the food, silly cat, didn't he know I would move and the food wouldn't stay hidden for long, even sillier, I didn't even feel him pick up my tail within his paws and move it for his own means. A sausage treat today. Love, Dylan and the cat gang xx xx

Hi……Weeee’re back and what a busy time we had, Mum finally came back from her hols and no sooner she was home the human granddad came to stay for a couple of weeks (he’s much better now) Then ***Drum roll*** human brother came to see us, we made such a fuss when we saw him but Karla as always took it one step further and squealed like a pig with belly ache … it did make everyone laugh. It was nice to see him home safe and sound. We did miss you all but with everything going on we couldn’t get mum on the computer for anything else other than the work she had to do. It’s good to be back. Leaving you a treat & a cuddly camel from Egypt. Waggy tails. Belle & Karla xx. ♥♥♥

Hi Liffey, NEWS FLASH....NEWS FLASH.....NEWS FLASH..... ANOTHER SHOCK HORROR AWE FILLED SENSATION. People of Berkshire in the United of Kingdoms have been stunned by the incredible news from the davidmh kennel. Her Princessliness Sarika ....... a member of The Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Royal Household, she of the ”butter wouldn’t melt” expression, she of the human eyes and the perfumed botty burps, the Laydee of the Month of Lurve, also known as Her Gorgeousness and, by Purdey, as Miss Goody Twoshoes............ has disgraced herself. On a walk this morning she did a Purdey, SHE ROLLED IN SOMETHING UNMENTIONABLE AND VERY SMELLY. Her human slave (now on tranquillisers) and the incorrigible one, the Poomonster, looked on in complete bewilderment. The sleeping dobes has yet to express an opinion. TV news crews from the Doggy Channel are on site and the Ambulance Service are administering to many stunned passers-by. What next?!!!! Will Sarika become the Poomonster? Will Purdey give up her title willingly? Will Max wake up? A bottle of pop and a fillet steak for you while we are waiting for answers to these fundamental questions. x

Hi Liffey, I think Maxwell has turned into a fish as we have now “enjoyed” a veritable shoal of fish farts. I am not actually sure that “enjoyed” is the right word there! However I cannot find any fins on him so I asked the local “she who knows absolutely everything about dogs” and she said I had to squeeze some glands in his nether regions. “SQUEEZE......”GLANDS”..... .”MAX’S NETHER REGIONS”.......”ME”. I don’t think so, that’s the sort of thing you PAY someone else to do.......Mrs Davidmh, have you got any cash, would you like some? It has also been all quiet here as far as Purdey is concerned, no rolling in, no treading in nor scoffing of unmentionables. Which is TROUBLING because I said that pigs would fly before that happened. I now go outside with considerable trepidation...it is ok being hit by a bird poo from 100 feet but PIG POO!! Goodnight Vienna methinks. Her Princessliness remains just that so today she is sending over some cash (should you have Max’s problem) and a golfing umbrella for your slave, just in case pigs do fly! X PS the one good thing about fish farts (what AM I writing!!!!) is that I have discovered that my reflexes still work, you would not believe how quickly I got out of the sitting room yesterday!!!

hiya, daddy has written a short story what will continue every saturday here is part one - shadow went to bed and buried her head in her cushion - so her dad would not wake her at 6.00am for a walk she was determined to have a lay in, she closed her eyes to go to sleep, then she felt a tapping on her nose - she opened one eye and saw a little glowing thing, she thought it was a bug and liufted a paw to brush it off her nose, then the glowing thing spoke -excuse me, i am not a bug i am a fairy, shadow opened her other eye and looked astonished, the fairy spoke again my name is lily but my friends call me lil for short, i have been sent to collect you - i will explain more later, let me put this magic ring on your collar so you can talk, shadow thought she was dreaming so she flicked her nose with her paw - OUCH - i am not dreaming she thought - she lifted her head so lily could put the ring on her collar - lily said so say hello - so shadow still in shock said hello - oh good it works said lily - shadow said golom is not sneaking around is he? lily asked, who is this golom you speak of? oh uh no-one replied shadow, so shadow went to a mirror to look at the ring, upon seeing the ring shadow said my precious, lily said did you say something, shadow blushed, lily said the reason i am here - it was told to us fairys and written in a phropecy that when us fairys are in mortal danger - a dog with an arrow marking on its nose will appear and help us, shadow said i did not appear - you found me, lily said yes i did find you - how? i turned the page of the written prophecy and your address was on the other side - prophets are never wrong- the thing is our king and queen has been kidnapped, and our way of life is in danger - will you help us, TO BE CONTINUED ................................................................................todays treat is spag bol and garlic bread, and a thank you for reading daddys story

Hi Liffey, NOT THE BEST 24 HOURS. First of all Max did a “fish fart”, unfortunately he was sitting on my lap at the time. Owners of older dogs will probably know about fish farts, owners of younger dogs have a treat in store. I am not articulate enough to describe the noxious lingering pong that results. Then on our walk Sarika came back lame, by the looks of things she got a stone caught in her paw, no cuts but bruises. While I was sorting her out I noticed that Purdey had trailed some mud on the floor. I picked it up and sniffed it....WHY DID I DO THAT? WHY DID I PICK IT UP? WHY ON EARTH DID I SNIFF IT? It is fair to say that I now regret picking it up and, very particularly, sniffing it. The little darling had obviously walked in what she normally rolls in, deer poo I think. I very nearly joined my clothes in the washing machine. So indeed NOT THE BEST 24 HOURS and now there is the next 24 to look forward to, OH DEAR. Today the girls are sending over some spare kisses and Max is sending a cork and a nose clip. PS Despite being well snogged Tommy didn’t turn into a prince, perhaps because he is a toad rather than a frog? But at least he has a smile on his face now! x

Hiya. Well sorry I've not been on for a while. I managed to get a big piece of chunky bacon whilst out walking and loved it. It didn't love me though and I've had an upset tummy for a few days. I didn't mind though - I got fed yummy cod and rice for a few days (although the kaolin mixture was yukky!). Still got some fish left over and I'm sending it to you. Love Kim. xxxx

Hi Liffey, what a lovely weekend, perhaps THAT was our long awaited summer? We walked up the Thames a couple of times and much fun was had by all....well, except perhaps for the duck which Purdey chased.....or the tennis ball which Sarika managed to sink.... it is a tough life being a tennis ball round here! The weekend’s big news was that Sarika and Purdey found a new friend who we are calling Tommy (pic in kennel if you can get there!). Max hasn’t met Tommy (who might even be a prince, who knows) because dobes opted for sleep rather than exercise. Because of Tommy the girlies are sending over a HALL.....Purdey wanted to send mouthwash too but that is her problem, serves her right for picking up Tommy with her mouth......all will become obvious, hopefully. Have fun x
