THE JOYS OF DOG OWNERSHIP....CHAPTER 4. ("Ahs" not "Urghs"). DOBERDOG. Max has given up barking, instead he is quite clearly saying "Rolf". He has always been quite articulate, once when he was begging at the dining table I told him that he could have some ham if he could say "gammon". Ten minutes later he said "gammon". He hasn't worked out however that it doesn't work if we are eating fish, steak, shepherds pie etc. He also has yet to manage to say "pease pudding"! Anyway Rolf. I am uncertain as to whether he is calling for Rolf Harris to put him on a pet programme or, alternatively, he has a friend called Rolf, in this life or a previous one. Advice wanted. THE GIRLS. They were asleep in the sitting room, Sarika on the sofa, Purdey on the floor. Purdey was having something of a nightmare judging by the squeaky barking and whimpering. This was getting louder and more frequent. As I went to her Sarika overtook me and started to gently lick her face, clearly comforting her. It was one of those wonderful moments and I nearly cried. ME On the phone late last night with work people in the USA, the dogs were in bed. I went to the loo for a pee on my way to bed. Thought I wouldn't flush because I did not want to disturb the dogs. DID NOT WANT TO DISTURB THE DOGS! What is that all about? I think that they have finally taken complete control of my life. And do you know something? I really don't mind. TREATS. Relevant today. First a Didgeridoo (just in case it is THAT Rolf and he turns up), then a mug of Horlicks (gives untroubled sleep apparently) and finally a loo with a silent flush. Have fun x

Hiya Rufus its sunny here at the moment but theres a big dark cloud over the back of the garden so looks like its gonna rain again so mums taking us up the park before it starts bet we get soaked coming home lol leaving you some scones with strawberry Jam and cream Love Duds Blaze and Thumperxxx

Hi Rufus hope you are feeling better sweetheart. what a bad day of rain again. Sorry havnt been for a few days but mums been in hospital, but shes doing ok. Ive been walking pretty good but wobbly and i have a very sore back leg and the vet said it could be a previous kne injury related to my cruciate ligament surgery 6yrs ago or could be due to my spine injury. Will have to keep an eye on it but im doing ok. I start my Hydrotherapy on monday at Brighouse, West yorks that my vet sorted for me yest. I go for my 2nd eye check up on weds but mum says it hasnt improved much, lets hope it does soon. Blues been running round the fields up the park and got black so bath time for him he he. Hiya Rufus my friend hows you today I wish you lived nearer we could have some good fun lol We've been down to the park feeding the ducks and as usual Blaze jumped in the lake and got covered in Algy so we had to cut the trip short he's had a bath and now smells of Woodlygreen Apple am tempted to take a bite lol mum says its raining cats and dogs been looking everywhere but I cant find them maybe theyre hiding lol leaving you some corned beef hash see you later Love Thumperxx

Hi Rufus thanks for the treats and the visit its a gorgeous sunny day here we have just got back from Pets are Us and now we're sunbathing on the patio exept for Blaze who is digging a hole yet again mum will kill him she says the lawn looks like we have Giant Moles she's just spotted him and she's started to talk in that foreign language again time to keep our heads down leaving you some bacon flavoured chewing sticks enjoy see you later Love Thumperxx
