The Dogs all had a Party..They came from near & far..Some dogs came by Taxi and others came by Car.Each dog signed his name upon a Special Book, and each dog hung his backside upon a Special hook..One Dog was not invited, and this aroused his Ire.He stormed into the Party and loudly shouted'FIRE' and in the chaos that followed, the dogs forgot to look and grabbed just any backside from off just any hook.So that is the real reason when-ever they meet or roam. They sniff each others backsides,to try to find their own..xxx

Hello Kia, Romany Ree here, Shona has now gone back to Uni in Leeds so Mam and I have reclaimed the computer and can communicate at leisure with our DS friends again. Yippee! Well, the other day Mam was flicking through her Robinson's catalogue which is full of horsey and doggy stuff when she suddenly had one of her 'I don't believe it!' moments. The offending article it seems was on page 220 - 'A Robinson's collapsible pet stroller' which apparently is 'suitable for dogs up to 10kg'. "Anyone who buys a dog so they can push it around in a pushchair ought to be taken outside and shot!" she raged. I think she takes a hard line on this one! Mind you, is this the same person who has just bought me a new heart-shaped ID tag - in pink! ( "That's different!" she snapped.) And just the other day I overheard her say "Daddy, what time are we taking the baby dog out?" !!! THE BABY DOG! I ask you. Has she forgotten I'm a rough tough farm-bred collie with ISDS papers and everything/ The words 'pot' and 'kettle' come to mind! Sending you page 220 of the Robinson's catalogue so you can see for yourself. (I'd shred it if I were you), lots of love Romany Ree xxx

Hi Kia, I have been painting with my tail & for days had a 'Applewhite' designer tail with delicate flicks on the ends, the cats have been keeping me busy, bit scared of Tigger, he sometimes blocks me in the kitchen & I have to bark so my Mum & Dad can remove him to enable me to get pass, it is those sharp things at the end of his claws, I don't like, he is into everything, the washing machine, dishwasher, he jumps onto my Mum back & she has to piggyback him to the settee, he has even learnt how to paw out the cat food out of tins. Do you remember Arthur, the white cat on TV a few years back?, he has copied that trick. Zebedee, sadly has been catching birds, we tried to save them, but as you know, once a cat catches one, sadly their fate is sealed, she attempted to revitalised one with water, he did respond but a few seconds later died in her hands. To human news, my Mum tried to set the kitchen alight, she made some watercress homemade soup & turn down the gas when she did something else, forgot to turn it off completely & when later put down her favourite doggy fleece on the stove ready for the next wash, went out to hang the first wash on the line, needless to say, the fleece went up in flames, she was so cross with herself for being so silly but it could have been a lot worse, if it had been Dad's shorts she could have replaced them from M&S but this fleece was a one off. I have been off my medication apart from joint care, to see how I fare, still get tired and I still get a limp but now the weather is cooler, it doesn't seem as bad, I tend to run around like a mad thing for the first 5 minutes & then run out of energy, if I meet my friend Susie, she keeps me going while the Mums chat. I am leaving you some Cullen Skink, my Mum has learnt her lesson & always double checks the gas ring is turned off. There is probably more to tell, but I haven't been in contact for a while, so might have forgotten some antics. Love, Dylan xx xx

Hello again, Romany here. Ever since I arrived here Mam has wanted to call me 'Romany Ree' but she doesn't know quite why. So she keyed it in to the search thingy on the computer, and apparently the 'Romany Ree' is an old traditional Scottish dance. It's also an old fisherman's fly-tying technique (the'Romany Rye and the Romany Ree'). But Mam thinks it's possibly something from her childhood - possibly the chorus of a song, or a character in a storybook perhaps. Just the sort of thing that would have been in those wonderful Rupert annuals - 'on his way home for tea, Rupert bumped into Romany Ree' - that sort of thing. Any ideas would be most welcome. But it gets dafter! Just recently she's started calling me 'Romany Ree from number forty-three'. So Shona says 'but we don't live at number forty-three.' And Mam says 'yes, but forty two doesn't rhyme!' There really is no hope is there? Sending you some fruit cake today as it seems appropriate! love Romany Ree from number forty-three'. (Well, forty-two really!) xxxxx

Hi there, Romany here. Shona has gone to the pictures so Mam and I have nicked the computer for the afternoon. It's funny but when I first arrived here, it got dark early on an evening and when I went in the lounge there was always another puppy staring at me from the other side of the french windows. When I barked she barked back. When I hid from her behind the chair she disappeared, and when I peeped round at the window again she was there again! But then the nights got lighter and the puppy stopped coming. But recently the nights have been drawing in again and the other night there she was, staring back at me from the other side of the french window! Except now she is much bigger and doesn't look like a puppy anymore. I keep barking at her. I even know her name now. She's called 'Your Reflection'. I know this because Mam told me ('Romany, that's your reflection', she said). Funny name for a dog don't you think? Sending soup and rolls as it keeps raining. love Romany xxx

Hi Kia, humans have decided to call the new ginger fluff ball 'Tigger', he is curious, greedy, mischievous, playful, he bounces, leaps, jumps, hisses but he is OK. When he is microchipped, I know, he will be here to stay. Steak treat today. Love, Dylan xx xx

Hiya Kia, how are you today? guess what on sunday we went to our local rspca dog show and Jack came 5th in the best veteran class for dogs aged 10 and over, just look at him with his rosette on, we also entered him in the most handsome dog class but he didn't come anywhere which he was upset about because he said he won Hunk of the Month in April so how could he not get anywhere but he soon cheered up when I gave him a biscuit and Bally was entered in the prettiest bitch class but also came nowhere and she won June's Laydee of the Month, I mean do these judges have no taste. But it was a brilliant day we all had fun, so many lovely dogs and the weather even stayed nice for us as well and of course the dogs also found lots of food to eat that all the humans had dropped, we didn't see any yellow doggysnaps badges though, wonder if many members actually have one, we don't but will try and get one soon. Bread and butter pudding and custard today xxx

Hi Kia, well we had a great walk yesterday evening. Well, to be precise, it was great until the moment when I attached Purdey's lead. You see I hadn't noticed that she had rolled in something and I am actually not sure, on reflection, whether I noticed before or after the deer's breakfast was on my hand. And did it pong, you ask? Well, it took five washes in soapy water and treatment with tomato sauce (useless) and tomato puree (much better) to get rid of the stink....and that was just from my hand! Purdey, the gorgeous little sod, required more drastic treatment and is now, thanks to the tomato puree, a RED Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. Sarika looked on in regal disdain at the chaos and also increased her human vocabulary somewhat, doberdog was, yes that is right, sleeping. Today we thought we had better send over some dog friendly bleach so that, if you are lucky enough to find and roll in some deer poo, you can be restored to your former glory without changing colour. Have fun x
