Hi Vodka, well that was a fun day, Sarika timing her illness (both ends) with Mrs Davidmh being out and me being almost immobile. As I wrote in the forums I had to laugh (although I admit it was verging on HYSTERIA) and my attempt at clearing up would have made an interesting picture!! Anyway my gorgeous Princessliness seems a bit perkier today so hopefully she is on the mend but it is still OUCH as far as my back is concerned. Allowing for canine illnesses, my disc problem has its advantages as my domestic goddess days also seem over, at least temporarily, so no hoovering, lifting etc....I still can do a bit of dusting though if I get withdrawal symptoms .....WE WILL SEE. Anyway we shall continue to sing “ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE” and, as usual, the girlie gundogs and dobes join me in sending cuddles and kisses. And finally, Two cannibals are eating a clown. One cannibal turns to the other and asks, "Does this taste funny to you?" xx
Hi Daddy Vod , well it's another wet and miserable day in Manchester. Granny is poorly with another bad migraine, mummy sent her back to bed and is worried about her, she'll go and check on here later, shes leaving her to sleep for abit now. We enjoyed a nice and quiet weekend, the sun was out yesterday but it was still very chilly. Jinx ws abit better on her walkies yesterday, but still quite nervous, poor thing, we had cooked chicken for tea last night, we all waited and watched patiently as mummy demolished the carcus for us yummy, and none of us lifted our heads out of the bowl until it was all gone yummy, we saved some for our doggysnaps friends, so enjoy :) love Dinky, Jinx and Frankie xxxxxx
ps. please would you vote for Jinx as LOTM :) xxx
Hi Vodka, building HDS WOOF (the doggies only BARK) is hard work. So far the girlie gundogs and I have collected seventeen twigs, four leaves, some cardboard with brown sticky tape attached, a piece of string, a plastic bag and a dead pigeon. I am struggling to work out what to do with the pigeon. We also very nearly collected a live deer but that’s another story (naughty Purdey!). At least the girlies make up with their enthusiasm for their complete lack of appreciation of what we actually need for boat building. The same cannot be said for dobes who frankly I blame for not briefing them properly. He says he has been too busy sleeping, watching repeats of DEAL OR NO DEAL or doing the TIMES crossword. In the circumstances I think that we’d all better hope for a DROUGHT this winter! Anyway, guess what you are getting today....that’s right...the TIMES crossword (three clues to do)....and OK then.....you get the pigeon too. Have fun x
Hi Vodka, NEWS FLASH....NEWS FLASH.....NEWS FLASH..... ANOTHER SHOCK HORROR AWE FILLED SENSATION. People of Berkshire in the United of Kingdoms have been stunned by the incredible news from the davidmh kennel. Her Princessliness Sarika ....... a member of The Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Royal Household, she of the ”butter wouldn’t melt” expression, she of the human eyes and the perfumed botty burps, the Laydee of the Month of Lurve, also known as Her Gorgeousness and, by Purdey, as Miss Goody Twoshoes............ has disgraced herself. On a walk this morning she did a Purdey, SHE ROLLED IN SOMETHING UNMENTIONABLE AND VERY SMELLY. Her human slave (now on tranquillisers) and the incorrigible one, the Poomonster, looked on in complete bewilderment. The sleeping dobes has yet to express an opinion. TV news crews from the Doggy Channel are on site and the Ambulance Service are administering to many stunned passers-by. What next?!!!! Will Sarika become the Poomonster? Will Purdey give up her title willingly? Will Max wake up? A bottle of pop and a fillet steak for you while we are waiting for answers to these fundamental questions. x
Hi Vodka, what a lovely weekend, perhaps THAT was our long awaited summer? We walked up the Thames a couple of times and much fun was had by all....well, except perhaps for the duck which Purdey chased.....or the tennis ball which Sarika managed to sink.... it is a tough life being a tennis ball round here! The weekend’s big news was that Sarika and Purdey found a new friend who we are calling Tommy (pic in kennel if you can get there!). Max hasn’t met Tommy (who might even be a prince, who knows) because dobes opted for sleep rather than exercise. Because of Tommy the girlies are sending over a HALL.....Purdey wanted to send mouthwash too but that is her problem, serves her right for picking up Tommy with her mouth......all will become obvious, hopefully. Have fun x
Hi Vodka, how are you? SHOCK HORROR SENSATIONAL NEWS........ the doggies are all very well but one of them (GUESS WHO?) is in David’s bad books. Did I ever tell you that Purdey can do the “backstroke”...seemingly for a laugh she will travel around in the house on her back, pushing herself along with her hind legs. She really is a clown. Anyway, after being NAMED and SHAMED I thought that she would turn over a new leaf on the poo subject. Well she sort of did........she actually rolled on a leaf yesterday..........unfortunately the leaf was underneath a pile of very fresh deer poo. My heart sank when having rolled she then decided to do the “backstroke” on the poo too. And then this person came along and said...”she is covered in it” (I think that was the word).....”thank you” said I. GRRRRRRRRRRR. She has now decided to be a guard dog although her kennel picture is causing me some concern on that subject too. Anyway, today we are sending over a royal wave from the princess, sweet dreams from dobes and, you guessed it, a leaf from Purdey. Have fun x. PS I would handle the leaf with care!
Hi Vodka, some people say that you shouldn’t NAME and SHAME unpleasant behaviour on DoggySnaps. Well, I am going to make an exception to the rule because, quite frankly, enough is enough........The NAME is.....PURDEY...............THE SHAME is.....FOX POO. Now I guess that some people probably think I exaggerate Purdey’s prideliction for recycled animal dinners.....well, this time the gorgeous little sod has got her comeuppance because I took a photograph of her in her fox poo finery and I have put it in her kennel for all her friends and supporters to see. Serves her right. The clean and fragrant ones, Princessliness Sarika and His Baldiness, are dropping off virtual photos of themselves.....”unpooed” they said somewhat smugly! Have fun x PS New new computer still working, PHEW.
Hi Vodka, how are you? This is our first DS visit for a while because I’ve simply got fed up with my continuing difficulty in getting into my kennel. Everything is fine here, Her Princessliness remains just that and dobes is asleep. Today’s treat is practical and necessary, a bottle of eau de dogogne.....VERY necessary in our case as our sensational news is that Purdey is no longer THE POOMONSTER, she is now THE STINKMONSTER. She has stopped rolling in recycled animal dinners (no doubt aware that a BATH will result) and has now taken up rolling in places where there are just strong smells (and, yes, I know what that could be!). You can imagine the scenario.......she comes running out of the fields and she is not covered in poo.......PHEW .......which rapidly changes to COR, WHAT IS THAT EFFING STINK as she gets closer. More baths await, methinks. I daren’t change her name on here however as, if I do, it will probably take me even longer to get into my kennel! Have a good day x
Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Vodka, hows your weekend going? I went up town today with mummy and my nanny. My nanny is going on holiday and needed to get some new clothes so we went along to keep her company. When we were sitting on a bench a man came up and thought I was a ShihTzu, LOL LOL, do you think I look like one??? I had roast beef for my dinner tonight. I'm sending you some. Enjoy. Love you lots my friend. Alfie xox PS Are you watching that Martin Clunes programme tonight?
YAY, it's the weekend!!! Mummy had the day off today so we had a little lay in bed this morning. Mummy had to wake me up, I was soooo tired. I didn't wake up until 9am and then I wrapped my paws around my eyes. I had such a busy day yesterday and I was really tired. Mummy thought it was cute that I hid my eyes. Anyway, hope you've had a good day? it's been nice and sunny here. Did you watch Eastenders? Mummy was in floods of tears over Wellard. Here's some fish and chips for your supper. Love you lots. Alfie xox
Hi Vodka, how are you? Something extraordinary happened here earlier........THE SUN WAS SHINING. Based on the year so far, and the weather forecast, this could have been the summer so it was walkies time along the river with the girlies and, yes, dobes too, although he needed to be carried after 50 yards! Today’s treats, apart from our good wishes and some pork sausages, are a sunshade and, just in case the forecast is correct, an umbrella. Back soon but my ability to sort out a new computer arriving today will determine when! Have fun x PS It is raining again.
Hi Vodka, how are you? My birthday celebrations continue, how lucky I was to be three weeks premature, my liver and I could be very tired by what should have been my real birthday in mid August. It is a lot of fun though!!!! I took the girlie gundogs to the Gamefair at Blenheim yesterday. They were much admired and Purdey even met some of her Slovak relatives. The funniest thing was watching her make friends with a water buffalo, I have never seen a dog stretch its neck so long while in "ready to flee because I am not actually sure what it is " position. She ended up licking the buffalo's ear. Sarika was above it all...buffalo, horses, eagles, ferrets etc etc..they are not humans (her favourites) so hardly worth a princess's interest. Max, as befits one of his age, stayed at home and slept. Today, apart from our best wishes of course, we are delivering a water buffalo's dropping, mainly because we don't know what else to do with it...it is rather large and, as yet, unrolled-in, the Poomonster still being "not too sure". Have fun x.
Hi Vodka, how are you? I have not been on DoggySnaps much recently and have just logged on to find that my dear old Max has been nominated for this month's Hunk of the Month, Sunshine Superdogs. I am very chuffed about that and should anyone vote for him (via private message in lisahorry kennel by 5pm Friday 25th July) it would be wonderful. In the meantime I approach my *0th birthday tomorrow with great trepidation so on behalf of me and the nominee and his two supermodel girlfriends I am sending not only a bacon roll but also a request for some anti-ageing pills, should you ever find some, in hope that they a) really exist and b) work!!! (I know that the supermodels hardly need them but, trust me, the need is urgent as far as me and the nominee are concerned!) Have fun x
Hi Vodka, well we had a great walk yesterday evening. Well, to be precise, it was great until the moment when I attached Purdey's lead. You see I hadn't noticed that she had rolled in something and I am actually not sure, on reflection, whether I noticed before or after the deer's breakfast was on my hand. And did it pong, you ask? Well, it took five washes in soapy water and treatment with tomato sauce (useless) and tomato puree (much better) to get rid of the stink....and that was just from my hand! Purdey, the gorgeous little sod, required more drastic treatment and is now, thanks to the tomato puree, a RED Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. Sarika looked on in regal disdain at the chaos and also increased her human vocabulary somewhat, doberdog was, yes that is right, sleeping. Today we thought we had better send over some dog friendly bleach so that, if you are lucky enough to find and roll in some deer poo, you can be restored to your former glory without changing colour. Have fun x
we have come with our appologies again for not visiting for so long we have problems with our internet its still very slow!! and we didnt know mum could speak in so many languages!!well we have been really good we have even learned how to work the tv remote mind you some of the buttons dont work we did try to clean them but not sure it helped!as some of the buttons fell off!and we done mums dusting for her well sort of we couldnt decide who was doing it first so the feather duster just sort of fell to pieces a bit like our toys really!!as its gypsy's 1st birthday today we have brought you in some spider and tennis ball cake with a huge bag of bonios for later we hope to get our internet sorted soon as mum said something about going with someone else!!see you soon luv and woofs rosie, gypsy&angel sasha xxxxxxxx
Hi Vodka, how are you and the humans? I haven't had a dog poo moment (if you know what I mean) for a while, in fact I had hoped I had had my last such moment. WRONG. I was walking Sarika earlier. Her princessliness went off to do "what is natural". I got a nappy sack out of my pocket (every item of clothing I have with a pocket has nappy sacks in that pocket) and put my hand in the nappy sack so I could then pick up the poo, reverse the sack, tie up the handles and job done (in more ways than one!). I am not sure when I discovered that I had put my thumb through the hole in the sack tie handle. Was it when I sensed the strange feeling on my thumb or was it when I saw what had happened? And does it really matter? Ugh..Ugh..and more Ughs. After lots of wiping of my thumb on the grass I walked home holding my right hand as far away from me as possible. What hand? No, its not with me! Anyway I managed to get in the house without using the thumb and several scrubbings later I think that it is finally clean. So today, not surprisingly, the girls and dobes are delivering some nappy sacks without tie handles for your humans. I am off to have another wash. Have fun x
Hi Vodka, I am just taking a break from the packing (we are off to Dorset for a couple of days in search of the elusive salmon). Outside it is a grey day here but inside it is mocha latte ice cream coloured, well the kitchen is. I think that I might have overfilled the ice cream maker. At least licking it straight from the walls saves on the washing up and at least it is absolutely scrumptious. So the girlies (who are currently asleep beside me as I type and are, judging by their movements, dreaming of things they chased yesterday), me and Max, if I can drag him away from the newspaper, are dropping off some of the new ice cream, fresh from the walls. Back soon, have fun x

Hi Vodka, a quick visit today because I have two girlie gundogs standing by the front door with their "it is time to go and meet and greet, hunt, chase, sniff and roll in" faces on ie it is WALKIES time. I am also about to churn some more ice cream (chocolate and chilli?). Heaven knows what my cholesterol level is...... and if I carry on eating the ice cream I will probably be able to ask St Peter when I get to The Gates and find out!!!!! (Assuming, of course that I am going in THAT direction!!) Anyway on our way out we are delivering an ice cream cone, we will be back later this week with the filling. x

I am also about to churn some more ice cream (chocolate and chilli?). Heaven knows what my cholesterol level is...... and if I carry on eating the ice cream I will probably be able to ask St Peter when I get to The Gates and find out!!!!! (Assuming, of course that I am going in THAT direction!!) Anyway on our way out we are delivering an ice cream cone, we will be back later this week with the filling. x
